Author's Response: Well, like I said; most of it I invented using piecemeal tidbits of genuine Polynesian (and, to a lesser extent, Australasian) mythology.

Interesting idea. In Biblical Prophecy serpents and dragons refer to Satan/The Devil. I hadn't heard of this Polynesian idea before.
