This is really an intressting story. At the current point of the story i am still not sure if Alex did what she is charged for or if she is innocent and those betas maligned her. I wonder if you (the writer) are even sure about that fact at this point ^^ .

Anyway if she will be innocence in the end it the truth becomes puplic knowlede to the omegas and most important to Bridget, i wonder how she will react after what she did to her "friend" and if her friendship will be over after this.

But hey perhaps Alex is begging Bridget for death before it happens to end her suffering.

Author's Response:

I have a very specific plot in mind for this, so there is an answer to that that will show up later in the story.

This is a heartwarming chapter, and when we get back to the present, their interaction will be much more emotionally powerful.

@AdamX: Most of this site is porn, but sometimes people decide to submit fine literature here. It's the reason I haven't left entirely.

Author's Response:

Thanks for reviewing! The next chapter in particular showing their next interaction will hopefully do just that.

This chapter really shows that these two had common ground and became good friends! Which is why whats happening in the present is such a shame!

Author's Response:

A very bittersweet moment. Thanks for reading!

This story regardless of the person writing always has those heart tugging chapters and this was one of them.

An incredible feat on a site basically founded on posting stories for people to shoot loads to.

Author's Response:

Thanks for reviewing! I had hoped this chapter would be viewed as such.

"Never have to be afraid again" indeed.
Great chapter.

Heh. Oh, mean irony. Thanks for reading!

A good chapter, a much needed chapter. In fact I think this chapter should have come earlier as now we have a good idea why Bridget is going to the lengths she is to find out why her friend is allegedly accused of hurting those betas. I think this chapter retroactively humanizes Bridget a bit, more than the work chapter did.

Author's Response:

Good to know it helped soften your view of Bridget. I actually had hoped this one would stand in contrast to the previous chapter, since the last one wasn't necessarily meant to humanize Bridget, but at least give the impression that she's conflicted on it all. Thanks for reviewing!

Well I wish I knew what exactly happened to Lexi in the subway but this is  tender moment.

Author's Response:

There will be more background on what happened prior to this event later in the story.

I'm really digging this story, brother man. It's outta sight and outta mind. The character's relationships are hip to the jive, and in a story like this, that's the note for this golden soundtrack. I'm really hoping you'll continue to put your weight on it! Peace, my brotha!

Thanks for reading/reviewing!

A heartwarming Jacksmith story arc...this was unexpected. ;)

Great stuff.

Unlike with Claire, this work chapter was tainted by the knowledge Bridget is going to go back home and torture a potentially innocent woman. And seeing how she's staying the course without any doubt, this is only going to end badly for both parties. It's hard to feel sorry for Bridget because she's doing this on such filmsly evidence.

Author's Response:

I was hoping the parallels with that chapter in Consequences would be felt, so thanks for point that out. It is definitely supposed to feel a bit darker here, though, given the differences in circumstances.

This chapter kinda felt like filler to be honest, not that theres anything wrong with that. Im sure you'll bring some of this stuff up in the main story.

Author's Response:

Hmm, I'd say it's worth holding judgment on whether its filler or not until you've seen the whole picture and how everything fits together. Hope you like the upcoming stuff.

Are you planning on breaking her spirit and did she actually do it

Author's Response:

Guess you'll have to wait and see...

I have a pretty solid working theory about happened, and I look forward to more chapters to see how right or wrong I am.

Author's Response:

The info will keep coming piecemeal in upcoming chapters, so keep your eyes open.

I'm kind of leaning against booze now but something is definitely up with her mental state.

Author's Response:

That's probably an understatement.

Reading Naoru's review and ohmygosh I can totally see that happening, though I would hate to see Alexandra break to that point. I'm hoping she can rise above this situation, and whatever happened in the past, and come out on top...cause I'm a sucker for happy endings (Even if it seems most unlikely).

Will we learn what happened to Alexandra's mother in the next chapter or will you be a tease and keep the suspense?

Cheers for another excellent chapter!

Author's Response:

That would definitely be a very grim way to take Alexandra, but once again, I won't rule anything out.  We will hear more about Alexandra's mother in later chapters.  Thanks for reviewing!

This story reminds meof a short video I watched once "A man in the woods" a child in a school starts to say that there is a man in the woods in which proximity the kidsplay in the school. Starts to describe the man as a killer, and all the kids start to talk about it,and to say they watched the man too. Soon the parents know, and the principalstart being harassed. He know the kid is lying, but no one would believe that a "sweet innocent child"would lie. That the principal is neglecting to do something about the killer, and they get him fired and ruin his life. The principal then goes to the woods, deciding to play along with the lie forced upon him,and kills the lying child.

I dont think its a thing of omegas being abusive; its about when someone we perceive as a victim, a child, a woman, someone we see as innocent and unable to lie, acuses someone of abuse, what can you do? teenager girls have accused teachers of molestation, just for being grounded or their cellphones taken. It happends. Now, think on this universe. A beta, a small, helpless creature that had been abused as a race over the years. One calls on an alpha abuser, and no one ever thinksit can be lying or being confused. They are seen as victims for the omega. They instantly believe.

I picture a story with an alfa falsely acused that breaks and starts murdering betas, to take upon the label forced on them. It could happend, anytime, because the omegas cant just believe. They got to be sure. It happends with anyone, in any society.

Author's Response:

You bring up some interesting points.  Certainly, a conflict I'm trying to shed light on here is the one of Alphas and Betas, albeit from a different angle than has been shown before, and how their past involving Beta subjugation has made it easier for this situation to arise. The Omegas are indeed not being abusive, and do their best to give fair treatment to everyone, but in certain cases like this one, it's hard not to side with the Betas.

Yep, this is definitely the people I want to be around for forever. Damn certain about it. Bridget better do some investigating and not pay lip service to Alexandra's answers.

I can see a death here.

Author's Response:

There will indeed be some investigation.  That would be a pretty unfortunate end for the story, though who can say where it's going?

I got the urge to play one of the Ace Attorney games after reading the part about the evidence. It seems they were very quick to come to a conclusion without conducting a proper investigation. Not everything is what it seems...but maybe I've played too many Ace Attorney games lol. But I do get the feeling something crucial is missing from that incident.

I'm actually hoping Alexandra is innocent, I really am. I know Aegis is looking out for the Betas but there doesn't appear to be anyone looking out for the Alphas (Though, like you said there may be some organisations out there but what can they do to Aegis?).

I get the Omegas are the peacekeepers; they aim to maintain a balance in this society, but there isn't anything to keep them in check from falsely punishing an Alpha (as far as we know). They seem so sure of their decisions and methods, but honestly, I'd like to see them taken down a peg or two - that no Alpha should be punished without a fair investigation and hearing. If not, how are they any better from an offending Alpha? I suppose they see it as performing justice, but from the chapters I've read between this and the original story, I get that some Omegas take enjoyment in punishing Alphas. And if one of those Omegas were an Enforcer to Alexandra, and she's found later to be innocent, it doesn't matter if it was an act of justice or not, they still took enjoyment from dominating and punishing someone smaller than them. They're really no better than an Alpha intentionally hurting a Beta. I hope this makes sense.

This is based entirely whether or not Alexandra is innocent or not lol (Which I hope she is).

Long rant is long, but I'm really enjoying this story. It's one of my favourite stories on this site at the moment, and the wait between chapters kills!

Author's Response:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Ethically there is indeed plenty of room to see gray area in how Aegis operates, though it is important to remember that the system was put in place as a necessary deterrant to the inhuman way things were being run before the Omegas rose to power.  There's still a very wide moral gap, despite how grim this particular situation looks.  Aegis really is looking out for the Alphas as well, but in cases like this, considering the historical difficulties between the classes, it's hard not to err on the side of defending the seemingly downtrodden.  I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

Aegis, a shield that protects betas but also blinds the omegas to their predjucies.

Great chapter.
