I wonder if Alexandera has the ablity to sue Aegis for this.

Suspenseful chapter, btw :)

Author's Response:

It might be tough, since Aegis hasn't been in the middle of this big of a mistake before. Thanks!

I'm looking forward to seeing how this all ends. But I really hope alexandra doesn't forgive anytime soon. I mean sure they were just "doing their jobs" as someone put it, but more importantly noone believed in her, not even her best friend and mother figure. Not to mention the fact that she didn't get a trial. They didn't even ask for her side of the story until AFTER the first punishment. So yeah, she has every right to be pissed at them personally and I hope she lets them have it.

Author's Response:

When the truth comes out, the full brunt of what's been done to Lexi will definitely be felt.

Someone owes Alexandra big time!

Author's Response:

That's putting it lightly

Oh, god, this chapter is too much of a tease.  Will the next "not short" chapter be out around Thursday, still?

Ultimately I'm hoping the focus will be mainly on Alex the people who have relationships with Alexandra that have been explored much more, maybe less so on Nathaniel--he's served his purpose, he gave us a good "who" and a "why", but the real meat is in characters established since near the beginning of the story, at least to me.

Though, of course, Alexandra and Bridget both will both need to have the opportunity to confront Nathaniel...kinda hoping a few of these betas don't make it out alive (rightly or wrongly).  I hope that particular confrontation and such can be as pleasantly smutty as it is expertly written from a literary perspective. xD

Author's Response:

The next chapter won't be out today, but it will definitely be longer than this one. All characters important to the story will receive what I hope people see as satisfying conclusions. And Nathaniel will indeed be confronted in the end, though in a way different than it sounds like you're picturing; hopefully it's still enjoyable.  :)

The wait between chapters kills! But I kinda like this chapter in the sense it builds the suspense. Yet, I hate how you make us wait longer for the climax lol. Really, REALLY lovin' this story, though. It's definietly one I plan on rereading from the start once you complete it.

I'm still hoping for a happy ending, but given Alexandra's response to that session (which I can entirely understand) I'm not sure how her relationship with Bridget, or any Omega for that matter, will end. Perhaps she'll once again show her strength by forgiving them (even if it takes a while) in the end. But even so, how the revelation will affect Bridget is a different matter...GAH! The wait kills!

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading/reviewing! I don't want to answer your questions though to avoid spoiling. You're right that forgiveness will be a tough road.

So Nathaniel used is real name ? Same identity as when his parents were killed ? He didn't think Aegis would put two and two together eventually ?

Author's Response:

Actually, Nathaniel saw it as being potentially to his advantage that they knew his name, because if the connection was ever made, they might assume Lexi was trying to even the score for her mom. Of course, he also didn't count on the clerk cracking.

Are things finally gonna come out onto the open? I certainly hope so. If this all gets resolved will Alex simply forget and forgive her tormentors? Will she forgive Bridget?

She WAS just doing her job after all. As for me, I can safely say that I'd be a bitter motherfucker for a good time after. I don't think I'd ever be able to see my former friend the same way again, even if I HAD forgiven her.

It's really easy to step into people's shoes in this, I think it's testement to how good this story is written.

Author's Response:

Bitterness would probably be an understandable reaction; I'll refrain from answering any of your questions, though, since the answers will be here soon in chapters. And thanks!

Pleaaaaaase tell me the revelation is the villain has a reason for framing Alex... I don't want them jumping to the conclusion she wanted revenge for her mom..

You've done a wonderful job at creating a story that's emotionally depressing (in a good way) it mmakes me feel helpless to read. ..I just want a happy ending :(

Author's Response:

Well, it actually was a consideration that she wanted revenge, but they're beginning to see things clearly now.  Thanks for reviewing!

Damn, you make me feel even more worse for Alexandra and I didn't think that was possible.

Well, I do try my best. :)

Fantastically written! A gripping tale that makes me wish so deeply for more! I hope for a happy ending, but will enjoy the ride regardless :)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much! There will be more soon, and I hope you like the ending in a few chapters.

Can't say I blame Nathanial for being as sour a person as he is...Both parent's eaten by an Alpha woman for no good reason?

Just because! I can't even imagine how angry at the world I'd be if something like that happened to my parents!

Of course, taking it out on Lexi and on all Alphas isn't reasonable, but I can understand why'd he'd go after the bitch's daughter like this.

I probably have more symphathy than anger for him after this chapter but I'm still rooting for Lexi. It's a really bad situation all around, and the only clear-cut villan here is Alma.

Author's Response:

He definitely has good reasons for feeling the way he does, even if he's misplacing his blame. Glad to hear those are your feelings on Nathaniel, Lexi, and Alma; that's definitely what I was hoping would be the case after this chapter.

Just an incredible chapter really. Following the last chapter I wondered if perhaps if Alexandra had been forced into hurting betas and that there was an actual case against her. Instead she comes across as more heroic managing to resist her mother’s influence and flee into the unknown at the age of ten.  It makes what Nathaniel’s done all the more monstrous as he’s punishing the person that (presumably) saw that his parents got justice.

Author's Response:

Thanks! Yep, Alexandra was not only innocent, but the only reason why Nathaniel's parents saw some kind of justice.

This is beautifully heartbreaking. I feel sorry for Nathaniel now, now that he was violently orphaned at ten years old. However, his wrath is misaimed: he's attacking the one who didn't know what was happening, and turned against it immediately.

I agree with everyone else: Alexandra showed herself to be a strong one by running away and telling Aegis.

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading! I had hoped this chapter would, at least, make people see Nathaniel as less single-minded villain and more just violently misguided.

Every Omega story has “that” chapter that is noticeably more standout than the rest. Omega: Consequences so far has Marion’s downfall and the final chapter of the Claire/Stephanie arc, Omega: Tough Love has Jenna – Part 2, Omega: Family has the first chapter, and now Inheritance has this chapter. Granted this my opinion regarding the best chapters in the Omega verse but this one was too powerful, raw, and shocking to ignore. Lexi is a very strong ten year old to reject her mother’s psychotic ideology like that, making her a lot stronger than she appears. This strength is seen in the present as she refuses to break under her frend's punishment and hold onto her innocence.

Author's Response:

Thanks man, it means a lot.

Wow, that was painful to read. Lexie's mother is a Beta serial killer; she doesn't just seem evil for evil's sake, rather plain old insane, Joker style.

I give points to Lexie for even trying to stand up to her, just a little. At ten year old, not muxh more could be expected of her.

I wonder if Alma got caught or if she bolted as soon as Lexie disappeared.

Keep it up, I want to know what happens next !

Author's Response:

I enjoy the Joker comparison; Alma's definitely not bound by any humane morals. And Alma was caught because of what Lexi did. There will be more on that later on. Thanks for reviewing!

And now the plot thickens! Irrationality and hatred is a volatile cocktail and Nathaniel downed the whole glass to even come up with such a heinous plot to frame Alexandra. I hope he answers for his crimes. For now I'll ponder what Aegis even does with beta criminals or will he be handed over to alpha courts.

Author's Response:

Nathaniel not only downed it, he set it on fire. All I'll say is that Aegis does indeed have an answer to every injustice.

Hah! I knew what was going on before, but this is confirming my suspicions. I'm not going to say, in case I am right, but all I'm saying is that it involves ghosts of Alexandra's past and the name of the worst Classic Doctor Who episode of all time.

Author's Response:

Those ghosts of Alexandra's past are going to be shown a little more clearly next chapter. Thanks for reading!

Finally. I was going crazy until this chapter. Expose this so we can see how the Omegas remorse and realize they aren't perfect. Will be a very interesting dynamic between a few characters when it comes out..

Author's Response:

I hope it doesn't disappoint in that department. Thanks for reviewing!

HAHAHAHAHAHAH!....heh..Beta's are jackasses.

I kind off wandered if beta's were more than just the innocent victims they're made out to be. It doesn't excuse all the horrors enacted against them but it's nice to finaly see some grey area. How ironic is it that the biggest most powerful faction is being so expertly manipulated by the smallest "weakest" one?

Author's Response:

Irony in its purest form. It is important to note that these Betas are in the minority, and most really are just normal people trying to heal from their victimized past. Nathaniel and his friends are just taking it a few steps further.
