My hibernation has ended. Many chapters have been added, and each one seems to be building on the struggles the separated couple will face. Elise and her desperate sexual urges, resulting in a lack of work ethic, yet leading to more aggressive behaviour. Alex and his forced servitude, the possible erosion of his humanity, and definite destruction of his self-control. What if one day he is taken off the drug, yet its effects have permanently addled his mind. Or perhaps Elise joins the Matriarch to find Alex, and becomes warped by their practices. The desperate tragedy of their story has so many different spirals. That your ray of light, your happy ending, seems like sunlight trying to shine at the seafloor.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, it was always my intention to have a bit of a rough period for the two of them. Like you said, I've promised a happy ending, so I hope it delivers. Sometimes you don't realize what you have before it's taken from you... and all that. The couple's trials won't last forever, that I can say.

I don't want to say too much about the drug or it's effects at this point, because that could easily become a plot device in the future (wink, wink), but I believe I did reveal a bit about how the drug affects Alex with respect to thoughts and desires in a previous chapter.
If I'm not mistaken it was ch 20 when he realizes that the drug isn't particularly effective when he's commanded to think or feel a certain way. It's not specified as to why this is, but it's safe to assume that the women of the Matriarchy cannot control his thoughts or desires with their drug.
