I like how they love one another but it was boring`I guess if I was 13 or younger I'd like it a lot,it would make a good childrens book but as it is I'm older then a teenager it is still a very good story so keep writing

Author's Response:

This one is meant to have a lighter tone than some of my other stories

You are right about the immediate family. Pet might be a little too strong word and he is a strong character. But those witches and warlocks are so powerful. Roxy, not even fullgrown, already mastered shrinking people and mind control. What could she possibly learn in human schools and how could she possibly respect teachers or other humans if she effortlessly can use mind control over them.

What are Allen's best achievements worth, when his best efforts are child's play for almost every individual in the magic community he is often confronted with. Grace was the final nail on that coffin. Reading his mind, shrinking him to bug size, not even save in his own house and locked room.
The reading his mind stuff was devastating on so many levels. His communication skills and smart tactics, his only line of a little defence he has against overwhelming odds. That one thing that made him feel confident about himself when dealing with Roxy is totally shattered in seconds.

After this incident, more than ever will he realise how powerless he is, even with his best efforts and whatever he achieves in the human world. Even a character as strong as Allen. It will always be in the back of his mind.

What if he marries a witch and he himself becomes a doctor/surgeon and his wife has the ability to heal herself and others in seconds or minutes. Or that his family congratulate him and praise him for becoming a doctor knowing that his mother, father, sister can do a much better and faster job with ease.

How would that relationship be with his wife and if they have children, some with power and others not. His own children with magic would dominate him if his wife wasn't there to protect him.

But I don't think after that incident he would ever marry a witch.

I bit of overanalyzing on my part. Because this story was meant to have some fetish fun with magic. But I'm always interested in the relationships and consequences that come along with size difference, size change, slow size change, temporary size change, power difference, etc.

Author's Response: You raise some good points. Even if this is a fetish story I do try to open up analyses of those size and power shifts you describe. Allen's expectations about the world probably won't change much after this, because he already has a healthy grasp of the fact that there's such a vast difference in capabilities for witches and humans. He's fully aware of the implications for his medical goals. Another couple of points that I'll make is that Roxy didn't necessarily mind control the teacher, she used some simple suggestion to help the process. Full-on mind control would actually be outside what she can do. Additionally, you're right that witches don't have much use for human education (hence why Roxy mentions she doesn't know many at her school), though she's a special case as her parents have urged her to maintain a connection with humanity as much as possible even as she continues learning about magic elsewhere. Finally, while magic can be used to heal flesh wounds or curse-specific injuries, other means are required if someone should become sick or hurt through an alternate source, which we may eventually see Allen become involved with. Thanks for the thought you put into your response.

Enjoyable story and world. I wonder why Allen was adopted. The difference in power is to great, that he is more a pet than a real family member. His family and the Witch/Warlock community can't take him seriously as a person. Even a 5 year old witch would dominate him. That is more of a humiliation. Grace isn't even nescessary to make him feel insignificant. The constant reminder that he is nothing more than a vulnerable-inferieur-in-every-way-human comes from his environment and sister. He can't participate in family events where magic is involved. I like those awkward size situations you put friends and family in.

Author's Response:

Interesting take. I agree there's a divide since Allen is human, though I'd argue there's a sense of equality there, at least in the immediate family, even with how Roxy treats him. None of them view him as a pet and he doesn't feel insignificant, though it may be different for other witches/warlocks looking in. Of course, you're entitled to interpret it how you like.

Fantastic end! Looks like even Grace has something she's scared off. I look forward to seeing what kind of punishment the witch queen will give Grace.

Author's Response:

Thanks! We may not necessarily directly see Caroline doling out a punishment, but there will definitely be repercussions of all this seen in future stories.

Awesome story and a fitting ending.  I like Roxy and Allen a lot.  They’re like cool friends to the reader.  It was funny when Roxy regrew Allen for the debriefing with Grace’s parents, and “it had noticeably taken several seconds longer than usual.”  It took a while, I thought at first, because she disliked having her brother at his full height :) … and later I factored in that she was also fatigued.

Grace… I really, really, really, really like.  Reading Snack for Grace for the first time, right after she made her appearance in Hybrid, identified Grace as being fucking awesome… godlike in her toying with Jay.  To see that *epic* side of Grace, in SfG, made her role in Hybrid seem all the more exciting.  (SfG was like a glimpse of heaven, in my opinion.)

I’d say I have a crush on the character of Grace.  A bit embarrassed to admit that.  That’s what amazing writing will do.  She seems real… just words on a page… but I never tire of her presence “on screen”.  She makes any story five stars in my view.  The whole story could be about a boring topic like the history of rock formation in Boring National Park… and then you write that Grace walks by and simply waves.  Bam!  Five stars!  That’s how I view it. :) :) :)

Grace’s downfall is just fuel for her ascending, for her rising, for her revenge. :)  She had some significant discomfort and she cried.  But she is such an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G character that even her imperfections and weaknesses are ultimately included in her perfection and strength.  Like I said, I never tire of Grace.  I like that she has a fetish for vore, and she is very playful.  I like her choice of words when she speaks -- elements of being maternal and dominating… desirous and impulsive.  She is my favorite character of all time for shrinking/GTS stories.  Thanks Jack.

Author's Response:

Thanks much! You're right that Roxy would probably procrastinate regrowing Allen, though it also had to do with her fatigue in that case.

Glad to hear Grace went over so well and that she felt realistic. I've certainly had mini crushes on fictional giantesses around this site before, so you're not alone there. I will keep Hybrid: Boring National Park in mind as a story.

You're correct too that Grace won't be so forgiving of all this. Hubris is a sure weakness of hers, and later on, we may well see it lead her in some more drastic directions.

I love this story. And I'm relieved that there is going to be another story coming. It did seem like it was a fun story to write. I love the characters playful interactions and chemistry.

Thanks for the story:)
