Well that's weird. An interview isn't just for the employer. It's a chance for the applicant to find out more about the position. Given their general unfriendliness, I would have run for the hills.

Ah yes, the volatile jobs market. It's really sad to see desperate people exploited. Although I have sympathy, it's way worse in the third world - where many countries don't have effective organized labour. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to work in those crumbling factories in Bangladesh that were in the news.

"Don't you trust me, little one?"

That's got to be the stupidest question since: "Will you respect me in the morning?"

She probably had no intention of going out shopping with or without him! It was just more psychological torture.

Emphasis on "psycho."

Mysteriouser and mysteriouser (with apologies to Lewis Carroll)!

Was Dr. Hiroshi narrating something into a hand-portable audio recorder? Or, was she conversing with some mysterious accomplice via drone-mounted webcam? An accomplice whom I initially considered the not-so-good doctor's bureaucratic rival. And, whose absence I previously thought the result of shrinkage and homicidal shoe-squishing.

I refer, of course, to the missing receptionist.

I will wildly guess that Our Hero is detecting seismic vibrations from an elevator. Most likely, a secret one connecting this hidden lair to the basement of his and Hiroshi's work place! Because, just as the world isn't 100% danger-proof, it can't be totally sound-proofed either

Hoo-boy! Looks like the psychological conditioning is starting to work.

As for Giantess Lover beating me to the punch? Welcome aboard, dude! I was beginning to think the other 51,449 readers were just lurkers.

I love the psycological aspect of this story. Great job with the frequent updates too.

Brainwashing via belly rubs?

That's definitely a first.

And, that's why mad scientists like Dr. Hiroshi are sometimes referred to as...

(Get ready for it.)

...scrambled eggheads!

I don't know, Hiroshi. Unless you shrank that Amazon-like receptionist to shoe-squishable size....

She did all of that to him on purpose. Didn't she? Just to reinforce how helpless he is without her!

The diabolical beeyotch!

Keeps getting better and better. An over-used cliche', perhaps. But, true, just the same! :-)

If Our Hero is smart, he'll regard Hiroshi's question as rhetorical.

From now on I will read it when it is completely finished. It's an interesting story and I think with a lot of suprises at the end. What I don't understand is why intelligent people in science can be so weakminded like this woman.
She could find a suitable person who is in to this stuff with no family/friends and she could have the time of her life with a willing partner/subject. Now she created problems for herself. Selfdesctructive personality.
