I can't help but think about it too hard. You make this particular world too easy to get involved with! ;-)

I don't think I am going to like the next chapter. Emma seems like an annoying preteen, but at least she is creative unlike her siblings. Also, my dislike for feet doesn't help either.

I do however, like this thought of the dinner table and the thought of everyone eating together unaware of where Tom is.

Maybe they will ask Tom some questions. "So Tom. How was your day?" Tom replies. "I was in a mouth, gym bag, under an ass, in a bra, and now under she toes. Linda answers "sounds like a normal day".

I don't think Tom is a stranger to this treatment. I hope something exciting comes up and I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response:

Emma's really just being more teasing than airheaded like she might seem. The dinner scene won't go quite like that, but hopefully it's still enjoyable.

If Linda is anything like Alaina, she's probably going to serve Tom-tom some chicken-fried crow. ;-)

Seriously, though: this parallel-Earth is becoming more and more of a drag to vicariously live on. If people automatically shrink at the telling of even little white lies, how do parents preserve their children's innocence at, say, Xmas time?

Author's Response:

Tom's mother isn't nearly as vindictive as Alaina, though she's not opposed to some casually demeaning play, as shown earlier. The world definitely isn't meant to be an attractive place to live for readers. The answer to your question is: don't think about it too hard. ;)
