A strange turn of events, indeed!

I like to think that Jessica didn't do it out of cowardice, so much as genuine concern for Little D's safety. I mean, look at all the sinister alliances that could be formed against them! For example; Mrs. O'Ryan appealing the first judge's decision with the aid of...Dr. Nebulous' lawyer.

EWWWWWW! (Insert shudder of revulsion, here.)

Yet, even though I have no doubt that Jessica and Little D still love each other, as Amber becomes a teenager, herself, she might begin to regard him as _more_ than a pet or a toy. Quite the interesting romantic triangle that would make, eh?

A sequel like that would probably have to be posted under your PG persona, however. ;-)
