Wow, Premoria looks to be so awesome for a premie.  I can see why Eli wanted to see it so badly.  Winter will just have to get a job there...  'sorry Eli'

Author's Response:

LOL, well so long as she doesn't try to control his life, Eli probably wouldn't mind.

As for Premoria looking awesome, we've only see a bit of it so far. There's a lot more to see.

Author's Response:

The slumber party did get a bit crazy with regards to the invasion of Eli's privacy and dignity. One would hope it's an isolated event. But they're all young and they'll make mistakes. Unfortunately it's easy for humans to take advantage of premies and without self restraint or guidance, what could've just been a one-off can grow into a more habitual thing, until they're always imposing their will on the premie.

Maybe Eli's seen this and wants to fight it. Maybe not. We'll see.

Indeed. One has to wonder if they're corrupting him by indulging in binding and other methods too much. His mom's just not around enough (or concerned enough?) to intervene.

Perhaps Premoria is what he needs to save himself.

Thanks for these answers. I totally agree with you and the fact that you show a perfect understanding of human behaviour and the possible development makes the story so interesting.

It is more interesting when friendly people do these believable acts and the transitions, rather than just your one dimensional evil giantess and one dimensional brainless shrunken character. These stories aren't interesting or creepy at all.

The nuances in this story are excellent. Through the lines you can feel that they're not at ease and if they realistically continue with it how you explain in the interview, the consequences are going to be interesting.

It gets easier and easier, before one of them begins to feel uncomfortable about it. It could be if someone mention something that makes them think or the slow clues that Eli is changing in something and they can't get him back on track. Even at that age, that feeling of uneasyness that something isn't right will gradually come after a period. Tensions in that group begin to rise

Like your renders too. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Is Eli not human? - in your last response you referrenced that 'Humans' don't respect Priemies, i.e.  humiliation, dominance, etc.

...or, was that just a brain fart? L.O.L. ;`)

still waiting for Premoria, ...Can't wait!

Author's Response:

You should get to see (some of) Premoria in the next chapter. :)

As for Eli, he's a premie. Most don't consider premies to be fully human because of their biological differences (size, requiring premie powder to aid digestion, taste, susceptibility to binding, etc.). However, like any label, there are those who consider premies to be entirely human. Their voice simply isn't status quo, yet.

@foreignkanto. Premoria maybe will have problems, so I agree. So maybe he must not go there. We can forgive Parker for letting Haley have her way this time, but if she doesn't intervene the next times, than she isn't good girlfriend material. He needs someone who can put him on track again. Increase his selfworth and confidance.

Somebody has to save him from that harmful situation he is in. Haley is a bad influence on his sisters. I can understand why she is doing it, humiliating Eli because that is one person she can do that to. Maybe releasing her frustrations what is been done to her. The difference between Winter and Haley/Ally is that Winter has no intention to harm him that way, but Ally and Hayley do.

The mother doesn't do a good job either.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Good writhing still.

In this chapter we see that he must go there. They are ruïning his personality. Haley is the worst and obviously jealous of his life. With these binding actions his free will steadely disappear and with it his talents, spirit and humanity. Haley is a bad influence on them and a one parent household isn't ideal. Moms sees to little to intercept this development.

Good stuff in this chapter if it is meant as something negative and he has to fight his way to freedom. But It would also be interesting to see that they slowly are ruïning him and when they are a little older they discover that his free will is almost completely gone and that he stopped doing most things he likes and he easely does what they want. But the satisfaction of it would be totally gone for the sisters and others when that sinks in. If Eli has the strength he must voice that quickly before it is to late.

I wonder where this goes.

It's back! I was starting to get worried it would never return. It really is my favorite story right now, well, tied with The Freshman. I read through all of Splinter's Edge in like a weekend, and I liked that one too, goes places I didn't expect from it
As for this chapter, it was pretty good. Glad to see Eli finally accepted Parker as his girlfriend again in a non-bound state. And that's a dirty little trick Winter is pulling. Although something tells me Parker and Haley will be the ones to convince Eli not to go to Premoria. Not that I would want him to go, he belongs with Parker. Anyway, happy to see this story return and hope it gets back to more regular updates!

Author's Response:

A weekend? Wow, you're a fast reader!

Winter is indeed pulling a dirty trick. Quite a mischievous streak. Hopefully it doesn't get her (or him) into too much trouble.

Ok, you've done it: Binding has officially grown on me. I guess it's mostly because of how unique you describe it as-- in most GTS fiction being completely encased within a giant hand is associated with fearful emotions, but this is the first book I've read that turns that perspective upside-down. Actually, it would be a humbling position to be in as a premie; feeling perfectly at peace while immobalised in a human hand. With each chapter I'm starting to see it as more and more crucial in recognising how dependent premies really are on humans, and their overall status in the world.

Anyway, I've got that off my chest now! Kudos to you for changing my entire way of thinking in less than a week :P

Author's Response:

That's good to hear. Because if you didn't change your way of thinking, Parker would have to bind you. :)

Interesting. That idea I found interesting that 2 small parents could have a child that would grow to normal human are giant size. I'm trying to write story about giants and have something like that in it too. We have seen it a lot with one parent, but with 2 is more rare.

The world you created is more interesting with that. Now it is very interesting to read how Parker and Haley grew up togheter. One that start out big and slowly shrinking and the other small that gradually grew to human size. Lot's of emotions there over the years.

Author's Response:

Yes, I've considered a spinoff -- Parker's story -- or something like that. Since I don't like flashbacks, it would likely have to be a separate story. As always, thanks for the review!

Woah, talk about a surprise. Parker used to be a Premie. That's a super interesting detail. So she knows how it feels to be small. This is something I don't think I've ever seen on this site. This story really is amazing. When the site was down yesterday, pretty much the only thing I was worried about was that I might never get to finish reading this story. It's definitely my favorite. Loved the chat between the two of them. Can't wait for the continuation!

Author's Response:

Glad you're enjoying! She knows how it feels to be small...to some extent. Since she was born a premie in Premoria, we can assume her surroundings have usually been to scale...until she started to grow that is.

The story is also posted on deviantart (links in each chapter), so if this site ever went away, it would still be continued on DA.

I don't think this site is going away anytime soon tho. I kinda like it's old-school website feel and how it never changes.

Yes, binding is vital for certain senarios to be possible, but it's also a manifestation (perhaps to an extreme) of what it would be like to be entirely within the grip of a human hand. We can imagine, but we can never truly know, at least not until they invent some full sensory VR at some point in the future. :)

Also good insight on what could happen if humans abuse their power over premies. A lot to think about, a lot of possibilities.

That seems to make sense that it can have a calming effect.

I look forward to that full sensory VR. It is fun experiencing the different size scenarios when you know you can always go back at being a full sized human in your own world. It is horrible for a fourteen year old to lose all that forever. If it happened slower at that age it would be more awful. He would still have to go to that school and not be able to avoid that like he can now in his 3 inch form. Can you imagine sport activities where strength, height and speed are important and than very slowly but surely be taken away from you. Being made totally aware at some point that even the smallest timid girl in the class becomes stronger, bigger and faster. That is one of the many possible very unpleasant things to experience.

Humans don't even have to really abuse their power. It is more the little things. He or she needs people/friends that include them in most activities and at least someone who believes in him or her. Boost up his/her confidance/morale and help him/her achieve goals that are still possible with a little help of such a person. If that is all gone you get the behaviour of Haley.

I think you will enjoy these stories too. Just like this one a slice of life story of shrunken people.

Author's Response:

Indeed, humans in this story wield far more power than they're even aware of, especially at younger ages. A premie can be scarred in spite of the best human intentions.

I'll have to check those stories out.

Haley puts on a though face, but you feel a ton of resentment at Parker and also at Eli. She seems jealous at Eli because of the treatment and care his sisters have for him compared to what she experienced with her family/relatives. That game was clearly to humiliate Eli and those words of her were there to hurt Parker.

That will be an interesting conversation with Parker.

Author's Response:

Agreed. Parker and Eli have a lot to discuss. Let's hope the bathroom doesn't have locks. :)

Anyway, I loved the chapter. I actually like how the Premies taste good. If Eli decides on a relationship with Parker and Zoe, I can see an in-mouth kiss in his future.

Huge Haley fan.  Love how she embraces her cutness and the way the small ones can get away with mischief, and also is a realist about how crappy some things are.

Great chapter.

Sleepover? That sounds like fun. I love the exploration of the harm binding can do, with her trying to have sex with him. I alos love the addition of another premie to the sotry, someone that can show Eli the ropes. I'm still shipping Eli and Parker though.

Top notch again and what I expected. The clues where already there in de earlier chapters, but know we see the difficulties for the loved ones dealing with their shrunken friends or family members.

I see some people other readers have trouble with binding. I didn't find it nescessary, but now I see it is vital for the story because of the type of conflicts and drama you want to create.

When the young person gets older and realise that having constantly binded a loved one has unintentionally done harmfull things, an uneasy subtle feeling of guilt slips in and will grow like you see with Parker here. I don't think Parker planned this from the very beginning before chapter 1 but now created a sticky situation. It seems her feelings to wanting to make it up to Haley and her maybe feelings for Eli are conflicting.

Haley didn't want to damage her sister with that burden and hopes here little sister forget these things when she gets older. It is not fun when you are 16 or 20 and reflect on what you did to your older sister.

This binding stuff can create subtle pain and guilt for the human handling premie loved ones when they reflect on it a couple of years later. It can unknowingly be a subtle abuse that the normal sized human isn't even aware off. Turning a lively premie with goals, ambition and creativity into an obidient complacend pet. His or her personality changed so much that at one point the human brother, sister or friend comes to the realization that the person they loved, respected and cared for is no more or that the motivation they had as a full sized human is gone.

Another great chapter! I like Hayley, and her influence on Eli's acceptance as a Premie- I can definitely see her as the instructor for when he learns the ropes of his new size, especially coming to terms with living away from Premoria for the time being.

I'm still not that keen about using binding as a form of discipline (I mean, they're already shrunk, so why grant everyone even more power over them), but I've started to see it as a good thing in other situations, so long as the premie permits it. All in all, I'm loving how this story progresses! Great job :)
