Author's Chapter Notes:
Forget about Don for a bit. Now, we focus on a new hero: a secret agent named Jet. It lacks action, but starts off his story with a bit more understanding of a public.

Time: 10:13

Country: United States of America

General Location: San Francisco

It was a few days after the disappearance of the famous Don Rogers, or, famous within the government. Jet Slate was having an ordinary day, walking through the densely crowded sidewalk. Jet was a tall man (about 6’ 2”) who had dark black hair and dark skin being half Mexican and half English. At the moment, he wore blue jeans and a black t-shirt. Casual, and his normal outfit. He had heard that the US government said the last place they traced him to be was off the coast of Shanghai, but who cares about spies? They made him as a secret agent look bad.

But, none of this had any concern with him. Or, at least he thought so.

Jet had to see his superior at the moment. They informed him that they had a new top secret assignment for him. He walked swiftly with his hands in his pockets and head down until he reached his destination. He looked up at the enormous skyscraper thinking of what a drag it was having his meeting at one of the higher floors. It was a beautiful building with an exterior of mostly glass and granite. He estimated it to be at least thirty stories high.

Jet opened the glass doors and walked in. Everyone in the first floor had black suits on. No surprise. Except the woman at the counter in front of him. He walked over to her and asked her quietly, “Do you know which floor is the Department of National Security?” She looked up at him and gave him a bright smile that very few others could probably do all day and replied, “ Why, yes I do!” She was a short blonde woman with a gold rimmed nametag that said: Lisa. “It’s on the twenty……no…thirty-second floor.” “Thanks”, Jet replied normally.

Jet then headed to the elevators. He pushed a round white plastic button with a picture of a triangle pointing up and watched as it lit up as he did so. He heard the humming of the elevators, even with all the talking people around him.

He never liked waiting for elevators. But, hey, who’s going to take the stairs instead? Not him. Or, at least not today. He wondered about his assignment, the floor that awaited him, even about lunch. Then he started worrying. Thank god it wasn't about anything too strange. Just the details of his mission.

But, thankfully for him, all he needed to do was wait for a bit……

Chapter End Notes:
Damn those slow elevators. Can't take too long though.....right?
