Chapter 1

22 years had passed since the catastrophic events of 1993, when the original Jurassic Park collapsed into chaos. As the memory of the tragedy fell into the past the dream that once seemed impossible had been rebuilt on a far grander scale. Rising from the same lush island off the coast of Costa Rica. Isla Nublar, was a new attraction: Jurassic World. Unlike its ill-fated predecessor, this park had learned from the past. Owned by Masrani Global Corporation in partnership with the genetic engineering company InGen, Jurassic World had become a technological marvel and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

Where John Hammond’s vision had once struggled under the weight of secrecy and unpredictability, Jurassic World thrived on spectacle and organization. Visitors arrived by ferry in the thousands each day, eager to witness living dinosaurs roaming massive habitats across the island. From the towering brachiosaurs grazing peacefully in open valleys to the roaring tyrannosaurs contained within reinforced paddocks, the park delivered an experience unlike anything else on Earth. Carefully designed attractions, luxury hotels, monorail systems, and cutting-edge research facilities turned Isla Nublar into a self-contained world of wonder.

At the center of this complex operation was Claire Dearing, the park’s highly capable and relentlessly focused Operations Manager.

Claire was known throughout Jurassic World for her professionalism and meticulous attention to detail. Tall and poised, she carried herself with a quiet authority that made even seasoned staff members instinctively straighten when she entered a room. She favored crisp, immaculate business attire—usually a white blouse paired with a matching white skirt and tailored jacket that gave her a striking, almost clinical elegance. Nude-colored heels clicked sharply against polished floors as she moved briskly through the park’s corridors, a sound many employees had come to associate with sudden inspections and rapid-fire questions about performance metrics.

Beyond her commanding presence, Claire possessed a striking natural beauty that few people could ignore, even if her serious demeanor often discouraged anyone from commenting on it. Her auburn-red hair was always styled with deliberate care, its rich color standing out vividly against her pale, milky-white complexion. Piercing green eyes observed the world with sharp intelligence, rarely missing the smallest detail. Her figure carried a graceful hourglass shape that her professional wardrobe subtly emphasized—broad hips tapering to a narrow waist, with a shapely silhouette that gave her an unmistakably confident presence. The lines of her clothing highlighted her round hips and balanced curves, while her posture and composure ensured she always appeared perfectly put together. Even her hands reflected the same careful attention to presentation; her nails were meticulously manicured and painted a glossy black that contrasted sharply against her fair skin.

To investors and corporate partners, Claire represented stability. She could deliver detailed reports about park attendance, asset performance, and guest satisfaction with calm confidence. To her employees, she was a demanding but fair supervisor who expected precision and efficiency. Every attraction, every paddock, every staff schedule ultimately passed through her oversight. In many ways, Jurassic World ran on Claire’s ability to manage an island-sized operation with almost mechanical discipline.

While the park’s success relied on the marvel of resurrected dinosaurs, its smooth operation depended on people—people of all kinds.

However, dinosaurs are not the only wonder in this world. Humanity existed alongside another unique group: tinies. A small percentage of the population was born less than an inch tall, their miniature size making everyday life dramatically different from that of normal-sized people. Despite their scale, tinies were fully recognized members of society, protected by laws and social systems designed to help them navigate a world built for beings hundreds of times larger.

Specialized housing, transportation containers, and tiny-scaled infrastructure had been developed to accommodate them. Some tinies pursued independent lives, working within industries that valued their unique abilities and perspectives. Others, however, found the practical challenges of independence overwhelming. Even with accommodations, the physical risks and economic hurdles of living alone could be daunting.

As a result, a widely accepted social arrangement had developed over the years. Many tinies voluntarily signed ownership contracts with normal-sized people. These agreements were legal and carefully regulated, providing tinies with permanent housing, food, and security in exchange for performing various services for their owners. For some, it was simply a pragmatic solution. For others, it became a deeply personal partnership built on trust and companionship. It was like a marriage, but with unequal power dynamics.

Within a place as vast and carefully organized as Jurassic World, both normal-sized people and tinies played their part in keeping the island running smoothly—each contributing, in their own way, to the remarkable world that had risen from the ruins of the past.

Zach Mitchell was Claire Dearing’s nephew. He was born tiny, standing less than an inch tall after reaching maturity. While this might have seemed like an enormous obstacle to anyone unfamiliar with tinies, for Zach it had simply been the reality he had always known.

Growing up as the only tiny member of his family occasionally made life unusual, but it had never prevented him from having a fairly normal upbringing. His parents had always been careful to make sure their home accommodating to him, setting up tiny-sized furniture, safe pathways, and miniature living spaces so he could move around comfortably. Family outings sometimes required extra planning—tiny travel containers and protective carriers were a necessity—but over time these routines became second nature to the Mitchell household.

At school, Zach attended classes designed to include both normal-sized students and tinies, and he developed friendships just like anyone else. By the time he reached his teenage years, his life looked remarkably similar to that of any other high school student. He dated, worried about grades, complained about homework, and spent long afternoons texting friends or browsing the internet. The only difference was he was little; he accepted it and so did everybody else in his life.

Zach’s girlfriend Deanna, one of the few regular-sized girls who was openly comfortable dating tinies, had developed a reputation among their classmates for being somewhat clingy. She constantly wanted to know where Zach was, who he was spending time with, and what he was doing throughout the day. At first, Zach had found the attention flattering. Being tiny often meant being overlooked in a world built for people thousands of times his size, so having someone show such constant interest in him felt reassuring. Over time, however, the constant texts, check-ins, and requests to spend every spare moment together began to feel a little overwhelming. Even so, Zach tried to make the relationship work the way any guy would. He told himself that relationships required patience, compromise, and a willingness to overlook small annoyances.

At home, the biggest source of irritation in his life—albeit a loving one—was often his younger brother, Gray. Gray’s fascination with dinosaurs bordered on obsession. His room was practically a shrine to prehistoric life, with posters of tyrannosaurs and velociraptors covering the walls and shelves crowded with plastic models of every species imaginable. Gray devoured documentaries, books, and online articles with endless enthusiasm. If a conversation lasted longer than five minutes, it inevitably turned toward dinosaurs. Zach, on the other hand, had heard more dinosaur trivia than he ever cared to know, and listening to Gray excitedly ramble about fossil discoveries or park exhibits usually left him sighing and rolling his eyes. Jurassic World really seemed like a place built for Gray than for Zach.

As Zach grew older, he gradually became aware of something about himself that he didn’t quite know how to explain, even to himself. Somewhere during his early teenage years, he realized he had developed a fascination with feet. At first, it had been little more than a passing curiosity—something he barely acknowledged and certainly didn’t analyze too deeply. But as the years went on, the interest lingered. Eventually, he had to admit to himself that it was more than simple curiosity. It was a genuine attraction, and he was all too eager to let it go into the realms of outright perverted fantasy.

The realization had been awkward at first. Like most teenagers discovering their sexuality, Zach had spent a fair amount of time trying to understand what he liked and what he didn’t. For him, feet had somehow become part of that equation. Sometimes the thoughts appeared unexpectedly, triggered by something as simple as noticing someone walking nearby or resting their feet casually while relaxing. The feelings weren’t something he talked about with anyone. Not with his friends, and certainly not with Deanna. Zach was fairly certain the subject would only lead to confusion or embarrassment, so he kept it firmly to himself.

Even so, those private fantasies occasionally intersected with considerations for ownership arrangements, as they were common in the tiny community. Several tinies Zach knew from school had already chosen that route. Some had become owned by their partners, while others entered agreements with friends or family members for long term security.

For Zach, however, the idea had never been particularly appealing. Even if some of his dirty foot fantasies brushed against the concept in abstract ways, the reality of ownership felt far too permanent. Signing a contract like that meant giving up a significant amount of personal freedom, and independence was something Zach valued deeply. No matter how practical the arrangement might be for others, he had always imagined building his own life on his own terms.
