Summary:

Fairly typical setup. Real world, everything is fine until one day a race of giants not unlike the humans of earth arrive. They aren't organized, in fact they don't even seem to be working together. Yet, in a matter of months most of the world is overrun. Most centers of civilization are wiped out, causing many people to flee to refugee camps. Years later, whilst humankind still struggles to survive, a mysterious organization has begun building special containment chambers to house the few caught. This story follows Ellis, a young man sent to question these captives. His mission is simple, find out what the giants know, find out where they came from, and determine whether or not each captive is too dangerous to keep alive...

This is my first serious story series, so I'm straying from overtly sexual content. But, as things pick up it'll get more interesting.

This story has so many unanswered questions. I in no way want to offer you any criticism you might take as offensive or obtruse to deter your motives for writing more to this.That being said, one of the most difficult aspects of telling any story is the ability to draw the reader in while maintaing an interest. It is truely an art to balance the two based on the timilieness of questions you provide and then the resolution you provide the reader. I am in fact entitled to nothing from you except your own enjoyment in writing this and I do not want to take that away by being impatient. I know you had said you had a 20 chapter map but, I just don't see that (not that I'm complaining). As a reader I would like to see some sort of resolutions made. When I began this chapter I got really excited that some answers were coming. As I read farther along I REALLY hoped Vera was going to offer at least a single crumb to Ellis to sway his interest. ANY answer to keep him hooked. I hope you continue to retain your passion and care in creating this great story for us but with so many unanswered questions what is the story really about? As a reader I'm confused. Maybe the new character, "bet" will be the one who killed his family? My advice would simply be for every three questions you ask at least answer one. But I'm a shitty writer :)

I appreciate the feedback! Now I will say this much, the vast majority of your questions will be answered and "Bet" will be key to some of them. However, that being said, I do want to warn you that not quite everything will be answered as it may not have relevance to the story at large (or at least as I would see it). Now, that's not to say the major plot points will not be thoroughly discussed. The giant's origins, motivations, and so on will all be revealed however certain bits such as the death of Ellis' parents, the rest of his family, and so on may not be discussed much more. A lot of what I have done in this partiular arc, especially with Ellis, is provided brief views into his life. Much of his personal accounts are there only to make him seem more empathetic. Like I said though, all of the prominent stuff will be covered. Thanks again for following along and do not worry I will take your concerns into serious consideration!

I hate how every chapter is a cliffhanger but, I also realize how long this can take to write especially with life and respobsibilities. This is like a good book that I stay up until 3 am reading just to see whats next but it hasnt been written yet lol. It sucks :) I do understand though and I'm glad you are updating this in a far more frequent schedule than most so thank you for that.

ALRIGHT! Now we are getting somewhere. So far we have four giants, Three bad and one that doesn't seem to be a sadistic killing machine like the others. Vera seems to be merely enjoying the situation of having power due to.... low self esteem? I get the feeling she will help Ellis get rid of the menace perhaps and be allowed to remain? Gurn has found a portal into Ellis's world that they can visit and return from at will and has seemingly taken it to use as an opportunity for a double date? Hell I'd do the same honestly. And now Amora seems to be breaking out or at least will be broken out by the other two bad ones? So now there is some meat on the plate. Just waiting on the potatos and gravy.

The was a story similar to this called, "The Incident at Forrest Lake" about a school being sent to another dimension but it had good giantess' in it as well as bad. Lol, I think the logistics around writing shrunken stories is perhaps a little easier to contain and keep low key as opposed to the whole world seeing a 100 foot tall woman. As I mentioned, I am currently developing a story featuring growth as opposed to shrink, though i just need to tidy up a few of my other stories before unleashing the first few chapters. There was a flicker of growth in another of my stories, though the breadthof the story was primarily a shrinker. I am also contemplating doing antoher story in this world featuring Dwight, but that one is still no more than a handful of lines in word at the moment.

As for growth, what is it you seek? give me some ideas how to tailor my giantess tale to capture some those elements. thanks!

You write and update frequently. I have never been a fan of the shrunken side you tend to lean towards and to each their own. I wish as many of the great giantess authors would also but, shrunken seems to have the larger following. This seems to be an offshoot for you and its intriguing so thank you for writing. Set in the same world as my other stories The Masks of Gods and The Sons of Men, this story follows several different characters set in the American plains/south. Set nearly six years after the giants first arrive on earth, In the Shadow of the World revolves around the day to day struggles of both giants and humans alike. A pragmatic but ultimately troubled giantess named Keirsien must learn to cope with both the physical and psychological stress of this strange new world. Meanwhile, a roguish drifter named Sharpe must put aside his selfish ways to save his new family. Saryl, a paranoid giantess with a haunted past, is forced to make some unconventional allies all while the anxiety addled Loyolla is forced to join a violent gang of criminals. This story is chock-full of plot and I'm hoping to reignite interest in this world. The point of view will switch around a good bit and I'm going to experiment with narration so at times it may implement some stream of consciousness. Anyway I hope you all enjoy!
