Sorry, but I can't. It's not arbitrary where I chose to leave off; there's stuff starting in Ch. 8 that ties in to the rest of the story and I feel I need to get it just right so it has the right effect I'm looking for. The whole story's been a very iterative process with constant rewrites and changes, and hopefully the end product will be well worth the wait, but until then I can't release any more until it feels right.

Thanks! Though, like I just told jacksmith, there'll be plenty of buildup still to come before getting to the real meat of the story. But it'll eventually be getting quite intense, I assure you :).
To be honest, I might not give another preview. Maybe in a month or two if I still haven't finished the story (which I probably won't have by then). Depends on how fast I can manage to move things along.

Yeah, well, if I really wanted to build up suspense, I'd post it in little half-scene segments here and there to keep you all on pins and needles. But waiting a few months to post, like I'm doing, is only gonna make people lose interest in the meantime, lol. But it can't be helped.
