I'd continue it and perhaps have it turn into a love story. I could see Alexis getting to the men's camp but this time, she isn't rejected but they actually invite her. Alexis goes in but would eventually realise they see her as a weapon, someone who can beat down the women. She and Rektor would eventually get drawn further into the conflict and perhaps, they must find a way out when neither wants to be a part of the war any longer. 

Perhaps end it with the pair fleeing the war and living on their own happily or a twist where they discover there is a small village of men and women living together peacefully. 

Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback. I'm looking forward to flushing out how a relationship would work from a size point of view. Not to mention fighting cultural norms of their society.
