This chapter was a bit on the slow side. I feel like it's somewhat important since it lets us peek a little into how Jisoo's life with her mother has been going. I just feel like the last 2 chapters have been kind of light on plot progression. Still perfectly enjoyable, I'm just impatient about what's to come.

Author's Response:

Unfortunately this chapter was pushed out a bit prematurely due to some personal stuff (I mentioned it on the website discord server but my apartment had a bad fire) and this was already after a delay due to work. I always want to at least get something out within two weeks to avoid a dreaded permanent hiatus, but I definitely agree the story has slowed down a bit from the endless cliff-endings from earlier chapters. Mostly because Jisoo has been working on her healing process, while Eren and Maeve are now doing their tricks to stay hidden.

Things definitely will start to pick up pretty soon as we are sort of approaching the conclusion, I think we'll likely finish with around 70-75 chapters or around that general ballpark. There is only one more major story arc for Eren and Jisoo's love story before things switch focus to other stories, likely within a series but we'll see! A lot can change.

It looks like I was right.  There is a schism brewing along racial lines within the 9-tailed fox community!  With the Northern Chinese branch serving the Japanese branch as subordinate co-conspirators.*

 * A la World War II-era Manchuria when it was actually a puppet kingdom briefly renamed "Manchukuo."

I've probably over-used this phrase before.  But, no other one will do.

This chapter was masterfully poignant!  :-)

Author's Response: Ty! I'm glad to hear it!

I know Grace is brainwashed too. But I dislike weaklings who cannot think for themselves follow things blindly as a cult,

I can understand certain things, but the moment you become so blind for things. When thinking about thinking stops, than you become something less than a human, let alone a higher being.

I hope you have a mentally painfull punishment for her in mind that is double as bad than she dished out. Not short, but so much pain and torture that even her victims would feel sorry for her.

Good writing.

Author's Response:

Grace is in a way, a product of the same system that Jisoo went through to become the monster she is now. Whether or not she's past the point of no return is something for the readers to determine for themselves, since she's absolutely a ego-maniacal murderer with a god complex who sees all humans as being equally worthless. However she also views human-on-human violence as being horrific, since she believes as a god she is the only person who is allowed to end another person's life. How someone can overcome that kind of brainwashing is a great inquiry.

Oh-ho!  So specks can play mind games, too?  Excellent plot twist! :-)

Even better is the bonding that's going on between Jisoo and her half-sister. If only because it contrasts quite nicely with the unsettling change in behavior of Satsuki.  I mean, one moment she's all about brainwashing Eren.  The next moment, she acts as if that was low-priority, all along.

Even for a multi-tasker, that seems like too abrupt a change in emotion.  From sadistically obsessed to just plain extremely indifferent. Maybe Satsuki is preoccupied with something that could be called a hidden agenda.  But, if so, what?

My guess:  there's a schism brewing within Amrita.  One that's probably going to occur along racial lines!  As in, the Japanese branch of the family is no longer going to take a back seat to the Chinese branch.

Author's Response:

Satsuki absolutely has her own agenda, and she hasn't gotten many chapters solely dedicated to her or what she's been up to during the time-skips throughout the year so who knows what she's doing!

Man am I glad Eren and Maeve are fighters, they had me worried for a second there. I wonder how long it'll take Jisoo to realize just how wrong her assumption is because I really just want to see them together again. Hopefully her sister will continue trying to convince her that hope is not lost for her.

Author's Response:

They're definitely very resilient. In order to reach adulthood as a speck in the United States you have to be very strong-willed, much more so than anybody we've seen before with maybe the exception being Thomas.

Wow!  The foxy ladies in this family definitely give new meaning to the phrase:  "Taking a trip down Memory Lane."

Author's Response: Currently they are only able to go back one generation of their reincarnations, but who knows, maybe they'll go back waaaay further at some point!

How do you feel about "Retaliation" as a title for ch. 43?

Author's Response:

That’s definitely gonna be a chapter name at some point! It’s too good to pass up, and when Jisoo and Grace get their inevitable reunion that’ll be an awesome chapter to have. But I do love ‘Fall From Grace’ which you suggested earlier so much it’s the current working title!

So, let me see if I have this straight.  The little stowaway was actually working for this Chen Zhilin as a double-agent? Looks like Jisoo's new friendship with Song is ending on a...

...sour note.  ;-)

Author's Response:

This is one of the times where a seemingly random person who shows up actually is a spy! I remember some people thinking that maid who found Maeve in Maddie’s motel room was a spy and I was wondering where they got that impression from, but like twenty chapters later someone actually was a spy!

Well, seeing as you've already used "Retribution" and "Revenge," for previous chapters, my only alternate suggestions would have to be "Rectification" or "Role Reversal."

And the former sounds a little too tame.

Author's Response:

We are beginning to run out of appropriate R words so I will absolutely jot down any suggestions lol. This all started because the original name for the story was ‘Rescue’ but I changed it literally last minute but have kept the R theme going over a year later

@Carycomic 100% agree with you. How unfortunate. Oh Grace, so many believed in you, but you are even capable of torturing a friend just to make a point. Not only that, she is capable of torturing a friend of your friend, an innocent person, just to make a point. Oh well, as Kardo says let's see what left of Eren after the reprogramming

Author's Response:

Eren’s currently in the custody of one of the most talented torturers in the Amrita Corporation… We’ll see how well he fares!

Kind of hoping Jisoo and Suji find out about Eren befire it's too late. Another great chapter! (Definitely easier on the nerves).

Oh, how she's going to pay for this when Jisoo gets back!  A chapter you should honestly entitle... "Fall From Grace."

If I ever decide to deviate from the 'every chapter starts with R' rule then i will absolutely do that!

Jisoo's cousin is now a dis-Grace.

I'm hoping that Grace's statement is just a vocal red herring that Eren has managed to persuade her of his p.o.v.

Whoa, getting pretty dark here aren't we Grace?  Part of me kind of hopes for a twist in the plot, like Grace goes too far and Eren loses his will to live and dies.  Then Grace has a moment of actual panic because she broke her work to Jisoo and did something she can't just fix, bribe, disappear, or say "get over it".  As always "gone horribly right" is the trope I'm thinking off.

Author's Response: Oooh and what a twist that would be!

Everytime I read a Grace chapter it just makes me want to see her suffer. I know its unlikely but I'm really hoping to see her in agony. I really love this story but this chapter is a bit too similar to the last one for me. I just want the plot to pick up the pace but that's just me. I can't really handle seeing Eren undergoing cock and ball torture this severe lol.

Author's Response:

I think Grace's chapters have had the most erotica content in them but also some of the most cruel moments as well, she's definitely shaping up to be the primary antagonistic force now!

Originally Reprogrammed was one chapter but I felt it forced several weeks worth of in-universe time into a single chapter which didn't quite seem right, so it was broken up into two and left off with a cliffhanger on the first one since I wanted to give a bit more focus to Maeve in the second iteration. Way back when I was drafting the outline for Deliverance, this particular part of the story where Eren gets tortured by Grace was going to be like five or six chapters but then I realized 'wow that might get very repetitive and kind of depressing to just have that happen endlessly' so I glossed over some of the worst things she did to him but had it be mentioned. Reading your review i'm very happy I made that change and there were only these two to worry about!

I made an account just for this review. Your story is amazing. It’s fallen into the category of stories I find here where i appreciate it less and less for the erotica and more so for the plot. My enjoyment of your story then brings with it a touch of anxiety.

so far i think it fair to say that you’ve been responsible in your depiction of cruel acts. The deaths of Thomas and his sister were complicated but I felt necessary for the story but it became satisfying, strangely enough, when it became the catalyst for Eren’s growth and criticisms of Jisoo and down the line, the Amrita foundation.

To avoid rambling, which is my nature, I like the conflict. Too many times on this website when I find a story with an interesting plot, people in the stories do horrible things that are brushed aside with no self reflection or criticism or when the author is attempting to make a compelling story, half heartedly criticizes the actions of the giantess.

With that said, Eren’s friendship with Grace has reached a turning point. It, in my opinion, is possibly even greater of a betrayal than Jisoo’s, because she aims to effectively “kill” the current Eren and replace him with a version more compliant. Will she face the same period of self reflection or external criticism that Jisoo had to go through? Will we see any sort of retribution on Grace? When you have a character like Grace who does horrible things to the people they love because they think it’s the right thing to do, a strong response to that is warranted, lest we find ourselves in a situation where Grace is forgiven all too easily. I already feel that in some sense to Ren and Maddie’s situation. If Maddie accepts her position as a pet, as lesser than human, something her arc of forgiveness with eren meant to teach her specks weren't, should we the ready consider that right?

Sorry for the rant. This story is amazing enough that I can’t bear to read it if there is only one new chapter out. I’m already kicking myself now for having given in to the temptation especially with the situation Eren is in. Leaving me with all of the aforementioned questions and worries. Keep it up! You’re writing is amazing.

Author's Response:

Wow thank you so much! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to make an account specifically for this story, and I hope you enjoy future updates as well. There's definitely been a long period after the end of the first arc so to speak when the characters mainly moved countries, in which there was a lot less erotica and more of a focus on development of the characters. Now there's been a return to form and some more action, but I hope it doesn't feel forced by any means.

And yeah I agree with the point that characters in some stories will do absolutely terrible things and face virtually zero repreucussions, Jisoo is in a situation where she is finally beginning to reflect on her actions and feels regret but can't just say she's sorry and move on. There's a lot of trauma on her mind and her redemption arc will be a tumultuous one that is not neccessarily linear.

Unlike Jisoo we haven't really explored too many of Grace's introspective moments, but it was hinted at a long time ago that she didn't want to have to kill Eren if she was ever ordered to. She does have her occasional bits of humanity, like telling a person who betrayed her that she would make sure his family was safe, but other than that she's one of the most monstrous people in the story since she views herself as a divine authority who can do no wrong which for a while was the same way Jisoo thought. Whether or not she can be forgiven for what she's doing, that will be explored later!

Grace is also one of the characters who I plan to give her own prequel spin-off to at some point based off her activities in London which have been mentioned a few times, which further explains her worldview. So there's always that to look forward to!

This is more random thoughts and speculation than a review:

First off, these sort of Great Reset type stories where a NWO-shadow organization uses shrinking to achieve a new epoch are paradoxical by nature (not a bad thing, in fact, it's quite good). The giantess action tends to be top-tier. I'm reading another story of a similar nature, "To Break in a Pet," and some scenes, much like this one, deserve a chef's kiss. On the other hand, because the giantess action tends to come at the expense of characters I've come to care about, whether it be Eren, Tommy, or, in the aforementioned story, Annabelle, you can't help but feel absolutely devastated about.
This chapter is another good example. Panty entrapment ... evokes something, and that's all I'll say on that. But, Grace has been a nasty, and unfortunately, Eren is in danger, and just when he was about to get his drip.
"Reprogramming" is an intriguing chapter name. The obvious implication is that Eren is going to be reprogrammed into being an obedient slave. However, as there is a twist in your story, Eren isn't necessarily the only one having his spirit tested. Jisoo is en route to meet her mother, which will challenge her very nature, even if it would be beneficial in the end.
One could also wonder, if Grace herself is in danger of being "Reprogrammed" as well. As has been mentioned this chapter, Eren has been through the gauntlet. He might have a fighting chance of turning the tables.

Author's Response:

There's always the contrast of enjoying the giantess side of things, but opposed to them happening to people you don't wanna see hurt which I think is a fun concept to play with!

It was easy to forget how much of a monster Grace is.

She's also lying to Eren (and herself probably) that this for his own benefit. She's doing it partly for Jisoo (who would be much less appreciative of the means and outcome than Grace hopes) but mostly it's for her own sadistic inclinations.

For a brief moment it seemed as if she was feeling regret and perhaps even a little guilt when she was thinking of her own loneliness, recollecting her time spent with Eren, and pondering the way he grew up.

Author's Response: It's a number of reasons why Grace has decided to do this, but you are absolutely right to diagnose it as her being a sadist chief and foremost. Part of it is because she believes Eren will be executed if he doesn't change, another part is that she wants to make Jisoo happy by getting him to obey her. But it's pretty clear that ultimately she takes pleasure in doing it!
