Just read the first chapter. I’ll give it a rating after I finish the story.
It’s a very interesting setup and you’ve written an entertaining hook to immerse the reader, with lots of foreshadowing. I would give the first chapter a 9 out of 10.
Some issues - the 2nd half of the chapter in particular is littered with typos (the first half was almost clean). Secondly, I would advise against the swiching of tenses and stick to past tense to avoid grammatical mistakes.

What I find so fascinating about the story is the fact that, from my point of view, it's neither "Gentle" nor "Cruel." For gentle, the victim suffers too much, for cruel, the victim doesn't suffer enough.
For gentle, the sister is being too hard on our brother, for cruel, it's still the sister knowing that it won't “hurt" him.
I find the story funny because of this.
