Excellent stuff! Looking forward to part two on Wednesday, LOL.

Hhahaha. Less than 24 hours after I published, and the goal was met. See, you guys do care :D :D :D

I'll upload part II on Wednesday. I can't wait to see everyone's reaction to it.

Sofia has taken over the role of head of the family for sure

and the way she is raising Mateo is really impressive

Absolutely love Sofia. I am loving her newfound attitude and power she is relishing in. Her getting off to completely dominating her husband. Seemed like she was also getting off to crushing that downsized criminal. Feeling like Liam might include Sofia in the next batch he has to dispose of.

Also Sofia attitude with Mateo. It almost seems like she doesn't want him to find a girlfriend. She wants to become Miguel and Mateo's entire world. The whole you be a good little boy and I'll give you whatever you want felt a little like she was offering to herself to Mateo to enjoy instead of him getting a girlfriend.

Anyway awesome chapter. Would love for the next one to be out on Wednesday. Can't wait to read it.

Wow !! This last part is completely insane !! I love how  Sofia take pleasure of the situation when the tinies climb her, it’s just trilling to imagine herself take pleasure while they are on her most sensitive part…

Couldn’t wait to see more of that and most of all what will going on with principal Sullivan …

I am wondering if the tinies could become even tinier .. I am pretty sure Sofia and Principal Sullivan live the idea of being even more gigantic and dominant !

Congrats for the work, it’s really great !

Author's Response:

Thanks for your comment! Tinies getting tinier, huh? I would be lying if I said I didn't think about that before, heh. Micros/nanos are one of my favorites sub-genres, so we'll see what happens.

OH MAN! This is getting intense! That description of the unaware crunch is pretty unique. I've read pretzels and soft fruit, but never cooked spaghetti. It really brings in another detail of how fragile downsizers are.

Drunk Sofia is absolute whiplash and I can imagine Miguel is really trying to be faithful, but her cute-aggression is not helping. Luna is quite the seductress. Either Sofia is going to come around and join the fun (her crushing criminals is frighteningly hot), or she is going to crush the shit out of Luna, haha. And maybe Miguel too....

Anyway, another awesome entry to another amazing story. Keep up the good stuff.

Edited for mistakes, sorry for the spam.

Author's Response:

Thank for your kind words! Drunk Sofia is great, isn't she? About Miguel and Luna ... I can't wait for everyone to read the next part to this chapter!

The story so far is excellent. I really love the parts between Sofia and Miguel! I'm glad you've started exploring that she may feel better off having not downsized, it seemed like a point that had been coming soon so I hope she has more of a conversation about that with Miguel.

I'm interested to see where you're going with Sofia seeming larger as well. When the story first started and you said they were going to lilliputian lakes I was wondering if their would be a giant version as well

Wow..such a great story bro, i love how each character has its own personallity and the MC isnt just the straight forward horny dude that rushes right into the stuff instead he was dragged to it. Also loved the scene with Hazel.

I didnt want to read the story completely just cuz i didnt want it to end, nice job.

Wow. Great chapter. We got to see a lot of action in this one. Tricia is a great evil giantess, want to see more of her. Beth to the rescue, just in time too. She really is pushing for some tiny action, really forward. Glad to see Sofia at the end. Hoping the next chapter we get to see some good overbearing, controlling mom interactions. Great job as always.

Author's Response:

Tricia will make a bigger appearance in future chapters. She's not done yet!

You know, I'm starting to think that maybe Emma really doesn't like Hazel's asshole.

I say that half-jokingly, but this was the second time we've seen Hazel put her back there under protest. Maybe that's just a game they like to play. Or maybe Hazel thinks its a game and Emma just gives up and feels like she has to go with it (I can't see Hazel knowingly forcing her back there or to lick her asshole, but I could see this being some sort of misunderstanding). I don't know, I might be overthinking this a bit, but Emma saying she didn't want to do something involving Hazel's ass in two separate chapters is something that just stuck out to me.

I love how in denial of his true feelings Mateo is. He can't accept the fact that part of him liked being pushed around by Beth, and now that he's tiny, it makes sense that he can't afford to keep thinking there's a good person behind behind her tough-girl persona. While we know how Beth really feels and that he'd actually be perfectly safe with her (at least from intentional harm; she doesn't always seem to know her own strength), he has no idea and therefore feels like he can't give in to this obsession. Knowing where his feelings about her are (and having a pretty good idea where her feelings for him are as well) at this point, the anticipation of that first encounter between Beth and downsized Mateo has been masterfully built up, and I can honestly say that I have no idea how that's going to go down or what's going to come of it in the short term.

Emma's reaction to finding out he wanted to date Beth, especially wanting to have a one-on-one with him to try to berate him out of these feelings, fit her character perfectly as well. She's such a lovable in-your-face character, that it would have felt weird if she hadn't tried to intervene. That's especially true given the way Beth talked to and even threatened Emma in the first chapter (even though the audience exclusively has good reason to believe that Beth would never actually hurt a downsizer). It also felt right when she missed Mateo's uncertainty about the idea of dating him someone else ending these "nightmares" for him; she seems the type that, once she gets an idea in her head, that's just the way it is and there's no convincing her otherwise.

The only minor issue I had with this chapter was not getting to see Hazel's reaction to Mateo's revelation about wanting Beth as a girlfriend. It certainly didn't hurt the chapter to omit that, but I was already pretty curious how his "guardian angel" was going to react when she found out, so I was slightly disappointed that we didn't get to see her reaction at all. That being said, the transition from that moment to Monday morning in Hazel's pocket came off pretty smooth, so I can't complain too much!

I do want to back up just a bit and once again acknowledge how awesome Hazel is! I mean, it takes a special kind of friend to watch you cum in the palm of their hand (even with pants on) and then ask you what they said or did wrong when you run away in shame. Not only that, but when she found out what the problem was, she felt a little guilty for having sex with Emma in front of him, like she was taunting him or something.

Maybe part of that is because Mateo is downsized and there is obviously a sexual component that comes with that; I'm not so sure she would have been cool with a full-sized Mateo cumming in front of her, even he did it without using his hands like he did here. That being said, we at least know that him being a DSer doesn't make him completely excused from sexual scrutiny from her, as she was only cool with him hanging out in his back pocket as long as he was respectful (which I thought was a good thing, since that was yet another example of how she didn't view him as less than a person after shrinking down).

In any case, I found her reaction to that interesting. Her tease game is also on point, as usual.

I was also wondering how you were going to get Hazel away from Mateo at school, as seeing Beth and Tricia at his new size would have been a lot less fun (for us, anyway) if Hazel were there to act as a buffer. Having the corrupt principal trump her with logic and passively threaten to ruin her relationship with Emma worked perfectly in that regard. And while he'll still end up with Hazel for most of his classes, I'm sure there will be some time in transition between those and the DS only classes for some sort of confrontation (or who knows what else).

Speaking of Principal Sullivan, what a great villain she'll make. I like how her sizism is so different from Tricia's. Whereas Tricia despises DSers (or at least she was conditioned to do so; I still think those complaints she had about them sounded too adult for a high schooler to come up with naturally), Carol simply doesn't care about them at all. All she wants is for them to "know their place" and she's fine with them. Of course, what she considers "their place" to be isn't such a good thing, given the way she ignored and idly played with Mateo before finally addressing him. It just bothers her when the little people annoying fight for those pesky rights of theirs (students and parents alike, it seems).

I'm still not sure if this is better or worse than Tricia's hate and ignore approach (which I'm sure will be different with Mateo, although I'm not sure how yet). Obviously, Tricia wouldn't let a DSer explore her body the way Carol let Mateo explore hers, but that can also make the administrator more dangerous in some ways, especially with how easily Mateo is able to be manipulated through his dick. And now that we know that she is doing questionable things with downsized students in detention, just how far will she go to keep the DPS off campus?

And as far as the DPS goes, a private company is in charge of enforcing downsizer rights? And the downsizing companies are more involved with them than the government? I know I said before that there seemed to be some dark undertone to this whole downsizing thing, but this is straight up shady. I'm still not sure what's happening behind the scenes, but if there was any doubt that there was something weird going on, there certainly isn't anymore.

Lastly, and backtracking slightly, I have to wonder if Mateo's libido issues are just part of the downsizing process or if there's something else going on with him. I don't remember him being this much of a horndog at full size (then again, we barely even saw Tricia and him together, so who knows what they got up to). If this is a side effect of the shrinking, I wonder if this is something permanent or if it will wane a bit over time and he'll be able to control himself a bit more after a while. If not, I can see all sorts of ways that he's going to get himself into trouble!

Wow! Loved this chapter. It had so many good parts. The fact hazel and Emma pretty much do it anywhere, anytime and how hazel even invites Mateo to join in the fun. The principal was an unexpected surprise. She is the perfect type of principal. She enjoys the power she has over the downsizers. Putting just the right amount of fear and excitement into the tinies.

What even is that shower?! I don't remember ever needing a protractor in the bathroom!

But taking that scene a bit more seriously, that's some incredible attention to detail on Liam's part. I think it also implies either a stubbornness or cheapness to him (based on what we've seen so far, I'm strongly leaning toward the former) that he would rather memorize the the perfect way to use their messed up plumbing set up for the shower rather than just have it fixed. In any case, his exactness regarding such a minor thing really stood out to me.

Then there's the seemingly contradictory way he got offended when being labeled a sizist despite the fact that his job involves torturing downsizers, which we were reminded of in an extreme way when he told Luna that he broke 14 bones on the last tiny he paired with his fleshlight. The distinction he makes between those other downsizers and Luna is intriguing: Those other ones deserved to be punished while Luna is his wife and therefore doesn't. He also claimed that his job is to protect downsizers.

He seems like a very black-and-white, law-and-order type. Between that and his attention to detail that I noted above, I'm starting to think that he might be former military or something along those lines, which, if true, would give us some interesting insight into the type of people that Lilliputian Lakes has on the payroll (I'm assuming he works there because of the shirt Sofia found). Why would they need someone like that around just to deal with little people? Again, this hints at darker intentions on the part of those operating in the downsizing sphere.

And, of course, the larger question to come from all that is what, exactly, does a downsizer have to do to deserve some alone time with Liam?

The fact that Luna knows what Liam does with certain downsizers (and based from the way she talks, I get the feeling that she has watched him do these things) and her reaction to it is almost a sense of jealousy rather than horror says a lot about her. She even seemed to be getting wet when he told her about breaking that downsizer's bones, and the way it turned her on to see things from that perspective is obviously telling. But one thing I'm left wondering is whether its her kink that lets her be okay with the reality of what he does or if she has somehow been convinced (or accepted as a natural consequence of "saving the planet") that such things are just a necessary part of this new world. My initial thought is that it's the former, as I've been leaning toward her being all talk with no substance regarding her activism (she clearly had other motivations for downsizing), but I don't think I know enough about her yet to know that for sure.

She also seems like a lot. On some level, her high energy and bubbly personality make her really likable, but she also gives no thought to the consequences of her actions and just expects everyone to be on the same page as her regardless of the situation. Her chaotic nature also clashes pretty hard with the more orderly lifestyle of Liam. In fact, their whole relationship confuses (and, again, intrigues) me. He clearly has a thing for bigger women, given his attraction to Sofia, and Luna was so much smaller than him before that they had to prepare her for sex.

Still, he really does seem to love her and even started to see the appeal of having a tiny wife. He seems pretty loyal to her (although it's almost never a good sign when you have to tell yourself that you would never do something the way that he did about Sofia), which, again, could possibly indicate a military background or experience in some other professional organization.

But the highlight of the chapter for me was the time we got to spend with my girl Sofia.

I think you did a tremendous job of balancing her sweet, humble nature with her budding fascination with dominating her tiny husband. I think it's hard to pace something like that in a way that makes sense, but you're off to a good start with her here. To me, at least, she maintained her meek, loving nature even when she was teasing and casually overpowering him.

Even the times when she hurt him (keeping him in her tits or pushing his head into her nipple in the tub, for example), it came off as innocent rather than malicious or even just power hungry. Part of this is her growing fascination with being big, giving even the rougher parts of her overpowering him more of an exploratory feel than anything. But I think a bigger reason is Miguel.

First and foremost, having her tiny husband be so into her has clearly done a lot for her confidence. She went from being concerned about how weird she would look to him to actively emphasizing the size difference both physically and verbally while using him to get herself over the edge. It was Miguel's words, his enthusiasm at the prospect of seeing and exploring his giant wife, that allowed her to move past her awkwardness and embrace this changing dynamic.

But maybe even more importantly, because of Miguel's machoism, annoyed seems to be his default for dealing with any negative emotions, and he holds back when talking with her about how rough she is with him at times. He didn't even let her know how beat up he got riding in her cleavage. And if instead of "What the fuck?!" he would have said something like, "Why would you do that to me?" when Sofia pushed his face into her nipple, I think she would have had a very different reaction. But because he came off as annoyed instead of scared or upset, because his reaction didn't reflect the desperation that we read just a couple paragraphs earlier, she just laughed it off, chalked it up to needing to get that training, and teased him about it.

In other words, Miguel's ego causes him to downplay things, keeping Sofia from feeling the guilt she might feel if she knew the full extent of her actions.

But as good as Miguel's machoism may be for Sofia right now, we also saw here that it might not be so good for him. I can understand his concern about Liam making a move on Sofia and even that Sofia might not shoot the average-sized man down. I don't think Sofia would go for it, as she seems incredibly loyal to and loving of her husband, but the insecurity of being two inches tall with a full-sized, super hot wife is, as odd as it may sound, pretty relatable. Yeah, that particular situation isn't something the reader will ever experience, but that feeling of inadequacy that comes with recognizing your perceived flaws while being with someone you view in such high regard is actually fairly realistic.

The problem is that Miguel's need to "be a man" forces that insecurity to come out in a way that unintentionally makes it sound as though he's questioning Sofia's faithfulness. I really don't think he's thinking that Sofia is actively looking for a way out of their marriage or that she's desperate for a "real man," but that's kind of how he comes off, hence Sofia's annoyance. Making it worse is that any comment she makes that could be construed as feeding into this insecurity (being flattered that he thinks she could land a younger guy like Liam, for example) is going to be taken in the worst possible way by him.

If Miguel doesn't find a way to dial that machoism back a bit and be a little more direct about how he's feeling from time to time, this could cause some serious problems for him down the road. I think his "fear for his life," while again understandable, isn't a legitimate concern; she's not going to intentionally hurt him. But there are a lot of other things she can do to him now that he's that small ...

I feel pretty bad for Sofia after that voicemail that closed out the chapter. It has to be rough not only not knowing where Mateo is but also knowing that she's the reason he's not with her and instead out in the world, incredibly vulnerable. To make it even worse, it's not actually her fault things turned out the way that they did; she meant everything she told him about downsizing and clearly doesn't think less of people who are downsized. The whole situation has to be incredibly frustrating and terrifying, too. For all she knows, she may never see her son again, and whether or not she does might not even be his choice!

That being said, this chapter shows that he's in better hands with Hazel right now than he could be with his mom. She doesn't have the training or experience in handling or dealing with little people that's ideal for handling a new downsizer. I think this transition so far would have been a lot harder on him if he had stayed with his parents, and he'd certainly be having a harder time accepting it.

Author's Response:

There’s a LOT to unfold with Liam. And it has to do with the story universe. I’ll unveil more and more of what he does, and why he does certain things. I don’t want to spoil anything, but you’re so perceptive that I think you’re close to understanding what this dude is all about. I want to echo what I’ve said in past review comments, is that this universe seems like a Utopia on the surface, but there’s some devious shit happening underneath. Oh, and the whole shower thing, haha. He’s a little aloof when a pretty woman starts talking to him. Can’t blame him with Sofia …

Luna … Bubbly and chaotic is a great way to put it. She believes in downsizing so much she’s will to downsize herself—despite knowing what her husband does for a living! That should give everyone pause for thought. Not only that, but Luna wants to play games like her husband does with other downsizers. Let’s just say, I can’t wait to write more about these two. Miguel and Sofia have no idea who they’re rooming with …

Sofia is the tender loving mom married to a machismo husband. She’ll show casual strength and independence that will cause Miguel to feel inadequate about himself. If he doesn’t change his attitude, I can see him having a rough transition into tinyhood.

And I 100% agree with you that Mateo is better off with Mateo. But … do you think an overbearing Latina mother is gonna simply let go of her son like that? *wink wink*

“It Was Me” it’s always a pleasure reading your analysis of my stories. I read every word, but I don’t know if I responded to every point. I hope this is okay. But I just love how every thought I put in my story, you seem to catch on. It makes me so happy that my message is coming across. And I love reading your interpretation of things. I hope you enjoy future chapters!

I love this story so far!

Slow burns are great when it comes to storytelling and anticipation. The bully is misunderstood, the best friends are written nicely and play off of each other in a realistic way. I like the idea of Hazel’s pheromones making Mateo trip and most of his trips are about Beth I love how the story is gonna tie itself up into a nice bow when Beth and Mateo finally get together! Keep on writing brother I’ll keep on reading and reviewing this great story!

Thank you for your support! I was afraid I was going to lose everyone in the first couple of chapters, but I had to introduce the story universe just right. Goddamn, am I glad I ran into this story!
I can’t say whether I’ve come across much of your other works thus far, but if they’re anything like this, then you’re a tremendous writer, mate. Your writing is excellent, really deftly able to compel the reader through the story, and you’ve already included a whole host of engaging characters throughout. Alongside a bit of fantastic smut, if that wasn’t obvious.
Absolutely can’t wait to see where things go from here, particularly with the variety of personalities at play combined with the introduction of ‘unregistered downsizers’ as a concept and downsizers getting ‘punished’ on top of that. Plus the M/f stuff was really great, even if the similarly superb F/m and F/f content will understandably be the priority. No doubt Mateo has got plenty of shit ahead of him at his new size, surrounded by his friends (love Hazel & Emma and their dynamic especially), Beth (intrigued to see just how her dynamic with our main man evolves how that he’s downsized), and Tricia too (doubt that’ll end well for him if she runs across him).
Keep doing what you’re doing, mate!

Wow! Thank you for your comment!

I'm the type of person that loves to get lost in stories. Imagine myself living in those alternate universes where size difference is a thing. And this Downsizing universe is something special I've been working on and off for years. I think this is the 3rd time I tried to write this story, and it's coming along just as I hoped it would.

I'm a huge M/f fan, so that'll for sure come up again. But I'll balance it with pretty much every other role. Because in these types of universes, we can't reasonably think it'll all be F/m, haha. But yeah, all the characters introduced will make a re-appearance. Thank you again for your review! I hope you enjoy what I got planned!

This was one of the most engaging, enthralling gentle-centric chapters I've read on this site.

I think that starts with how we're presented with Mateo's new perspective of his old world. You hit on little details like the volume of Hazel's voice both behind the glass and when Mateo is right in front of her face, the speed and turbulence of her walking, the loudness of her car's engine, and the general weirdness of these new, yet familiar environments to him in such a relatable way that it's easy to empathize with him. Him walking onto her palm for the first time was easy to imagine and the scene captured his timid, unsure but trusting state of mind in that moment. I also love that he has a different feel than Emma for Hazel when he walks on the human's palm.

I also love Hazel as a giantess. She's so adorably enthusiastic about Mateo's downsizing that it's contagious! She also doesn't take any offense at his fear and hesitancy and seems to completely understand where he's coming from. At the same time, she doesn't coddle or infantilize him, either, and still makes jokes about things like dropping tinies. So she's basically just her usual self, but bigger (from Mateo's perspective, at least), which turns out to be the exact kind of familiarity he needs in his life right now.

I almost hate to say it, but ignoring Miguel and walking out on his family was probably the best thing he could have done in terms of adjusting to his new size. I love Sofia, but there's no way she was anywhere near as ready as Hazel, an experienced permit holder with a downsized girlfriend, to handle him and get him used to the human world. The way Hazel actually accounted for Emma and Mateo's downward momentum when catching them on their respective trust falls (we'll come back to the trust fall) is prime example of this. There's no one Sofia would have even thought of that, let alone been able to pull it off with no experience. Mateo is definitely safer with Hazel than he would be with his mom.

And then there are the mental preparations. Emma and Hazel introduced him to human pheromones, and I've got to think that Hazel was a lot more patient with Mateo's skittishness than Sofia would have been (not that his mom would have gotten mad, but I think it would have stressed both Mateo and her out to no end).

But that heart-to-heart between Mateo and Hazel did more good for him than anything. Her touching description of their friendship and what she really thinks of him revealed to Mateo that not only is this the same Hazel that he's always known but that she sees him as the same Mateo as always. She just feels like now this is her chance to pay him back for all the kindness he has ever shown her. How could he not trust her completely and lose those lingering doubts after hearing that. Being so comfortable around Hazel will do more to help him adapt than anything else. Hell, Mateo went from wanting to be completely isolated from humans to wanting a human girlfriend. I think that pretty much says it all.

There's nothing Sofia could have said or done to have had this effect on him, particularly given the tension that has come from her not being able to downsize.

As for the trust fall itself, it kind of made me think back to Emma and Hazel's skateboard trick back in chapter one. Emma mentioned having complete trust in Hazel then, and now we have a much better idea of what she meant by that. Not only that, but Emma's carefree attitude when jumping off the nightstand and Mateo freaking out over her safety is exactly like their reactions during that trick. In a way, this seems like a right of passage for Mateo, one in which he went from the human way of thinking (oh my god, what if Hazel doesn't catch her) to the downsizer way of thinking (whatever happens, Hazel has my back and won't let anything happen to me).

Emma was a lot of fun this chapter. She was pushing Mateo way too hard on trusting Hazel, but it's understandable that she would do so. She's been tiny her whole life, and , given both that fact and she that she related with Mateo about how scary seeing your first human can be, she likely grew up in a downsized community, but she's never been human.

She can't comprehend what it's like to see the world one way your entire life and then suddenly everything looks so much bigger and scarier, including your friends. She wants Mateo to get past what she knows is an unwarranted fear of Hazel for his own sake, and she's also offended on Hazel's behalf that he doesn't trust her giant girlfriend to the same extent she does (He really does trust her, but there's some things that are just harder to get past mentally). So she's pushy with him and get legitimately angry with him over it, even when Hazel understands where he's coming from and isn't upset at all. She just can't understand what's holding Mateo back, and she's understandably frustrated by that.

Ultimately, Emma was right, though, and despite her pushing too hard and not having the capacity to empathize with him, Mateo was lucky to have her there. Sometimes friends have to push barriers and break you out of your comfort zone, and he only got to the place he was in at the end of the chapter because of her.

Also, I absolutely adore the fact that Emma wears the pants in that relationship. Hazel pretty much does what she says, even when she doesn't feel comfortable with it (like putting Mateo underfoot.). In fact, the only time all chapter that Hazel took charge of her was when she pushed Mateo to his breaking point; it literally took seeing one of her closest friends about to lose it to step in and put Emma in her place, which just so happens to be Hazel's butt. I think that says a lot about how much Hazel cares for and respects her, as well as how much trust she puts in Hazel.

Finally, there was not one, but two Beth fantasies in this chapter! And both pheromone-induced hallucinations had clear messages for Mateo. The first one, in which Beth brought him his homework and promised him an A+ on it right before making out with him, is clearly his subconscious showing him exactly why he had been doing that for her for so long. In the fantasy, she was doing it out of a desire for him because that reflects the reality that he did that for her out of a desire for her. That desire is buried deep, probably because of some combination of misinterpreting her bullying of him (which is understandable), a fear of rejection, and the fact that he was in a relationship up until the evening before this fantasy took place.

The second hallucination is even more obvious, just in case he didn't get the message the first time. Trish is with him and tiny and even sucking his dick on the lake, and he still dreams about giant Beth picking Trish up, discarding her, and taking him for herself. He has always preferred Beth, but those things listed above (or whatever else was keeping him from realizing this) kept him from seeing it. Now, with a direct window into his innermost mental workings, he's being bombarded with this truth.

I also wanted to point out that Mateo actually seemed more upset that Trish wasn't around to be his giant girlfriend than he was about actually losing the relationship with her. We don't know much about their relationship other than how it ended, but I'm getting the vibe that it was more one of those high school "be in a relationship just to have one" type of deals than anything. I mean, she ditched him pretty quick at a time when he really needed support, and he sure got over that really quickly. Now he's pissed because he's pining for what Hazel and Emma have, but doesn't know where to find it.

Well, he does, but will he be able to admit it to himself? And even if he does, will Hazel and Jack even let him anywhere near Beth to pursue it? And what'll Beth's reaction be when she sees a tiny Mateo for the first time? Is she still going to try and apologize for taking things too far before, or is she going to be too horny to even think of that (it's pretty obvious that she's into downsizers)? Or will she revert back to her hard outer shell and try to pick on him like normal (well, mostly normal, but with an even bigger height advantage)?

I don't know the answer to any of those questions, obviously, but I have a feeling that we're going to see Trish's reaction first, given our trio is going shopping and Trish is a documented shopaholic.

Your reviews make me so happy!

Hazel – Isn’t she the best? She’s adept at handling downsizers, and maybe because Emma is so used to it, Mateo’s hesitation, which is understandable, was a shock to Emma. Your observations are perfect. Hazel treats Mateo as a friend and not some plaything. She understands he needs to get accustomed to being a downsizer and is patient with him. She doesn’t force him or, like you said, infantilize him. Hazel is who I’d want to introduce me to my new life if I were in Mateo’s position.

Emma – The dominant one in the relationship? Haha, yuuup! She definitely calls the shots with her bigger than life personality. Think about the way she stands up to Beth and directed what everyone did in the bedroom. I love how she took offense to Mateo, fearing her girlfriend, and stopped everything to “fix” that before moving on. And yes, she can still empathize with Mateo, being a new downsizer, and teach him things he needs to know before he meets other humans.

Mateo – Oh yeah, his subconscious keeps going back to fantasizing about Beth. A long-buried feeling for her. I mean, he did her homework without coercion. He’s the “only” one in school that talks to her. And now, seeing what a relationship with a human can be like … he just might think about her more.

Trish – This is still something I’m working through. I think on the surface, Mateo would like to get back with Trish. He might explain to her how great mixed-size relationships can be. But Trish might be too far down the downsizer-hate that she’ll never want to hookup with Mateo again. Her “learned” prejudices against downsizers might be too deep-seeded to reverse.

Thanks again for you awesome reviews! I hope I hit every point you made. You're giving me a lot of motivation to keep on writing, so, thank you, thank you!

Yay smut!!!   I really liked the way you handled Hazel and Emma being gay, and yet throwing little Mateo a bone (er sock).
