I agree! I'm very partial to growth sequences and the destruction is a great detail to enhance the sense of scale and power.
Admittedly, this story was actually going to be much longer, which is apparent when you look at how long the buildup is versus how long the major growth sequence is. I was going to include a lot more anecdotal scenes like that of the bus or the girl in Joy's hair, but I was working to complete this on a very short time frame and so I had to make some cuts. In time, I'll get around to writing some longer works with more growth sequences.
