Interesting again.
Tina may not have noticed yet, but she is being easely manipulated by others(Amy and Dana) and find it important what others think of her. Amy and Dana are clearly the dominant ones in relationship to Tina. Tina can see the direct afwful behavior from Eva, but is blind to others who mask themselves in kindness. Amy is constantly giving suggestions how Tina must think. Interesting how she tries to balance and justify everything. It will hit hard when she realizes after some time that her actions have gone farther than any known serial killer/torturer in history had gone

Eva's journey is an interesting one. She is an person who needs a good lesson.
The punishments are secondary to just holding a person captive in a small isolated prison. Her strong point is her will. That is one of the few positive traits she has.

Glad you detailed both their development and their hardships. They work well of eachother.
Interesting details with that plant DNA stuff, that can be something interesting for later.

We seem to be seeing a shift in Tina. Tina doesn't seem to hate Eva anymore; I think Tina's moved on to a new relationship and attitude with Eva. On the surface, Tina's being very nice, by giving Eva such a good living space, and she's not being outwardly cruel, but Eva has a point: this is still a kidnapping. Eva isn't free to go, which is ethically kind of important. Tina has become a teddy bear stuffed with darkness.

I bet Amy gave Tina some recording devices for the new house. It would give her the data she craves...

And it was funny to watch Tina chase Eva with a plush Pokemon.

I also read the beach story, and cat boob is so classically Tina it was funny. And the thing Amy does at the end is interesting, because it's erotically interesting and would be par for the course in many other stories, but sticks out here because it's not a thing of the sort we've seen in this story so far.

Author's Response:

"A teddy bear stuffed with darkness." - I won't lie, that got a laugh out of me. Won't comment much on your speculation as ever, but I will say Tina is certainly not a perfect person. This is a story as much about her own shortcomings as it is about Eva's, and how the two are handling said shortcomings.

Hope you enjoyed the beach story too. It's more of a fluffy side story thing so did indeed play up some of the erotic elements more. Certainly something more geared towards toying with the characters a bit without a lot of stakes of plot.

That shakes things up rather nicely. I hadn't thought that Amy would join Tina in this way, but it fits. Now that leaves a few questions:

1) What would Dana and the rest of the office think? Presumably it still needs to be kept secret from them. The more people know, the more points of failure, but Amy's in a position to deal with evidence in the lab.

2) What's Amy going to do with Eva? And what's she going to do now that she knows that humans can be safely shrunk?

3) What other progress has Amy been making in the lab?

4) How is Amy going to use this data? She can't tell the other scientists about any measurements or observations she makes about Eva without tipping them off that a human's been shrunk. She could, though, use the data to plan experiments that will provide data that isn't directly linked to Eva.

5) What happens when the police investigate Eva's disappearance and interview Tina and Amy?

This is interesting and I got a feeling Amy would know, or at least a second person.
I hope the journey keeps getting interesting with lot of details and still that every action has consequences. Torture from 2 makes it more interesting, and I still hope that you keep putting much thought behind every action.

I once saw a good story, with a good premise, but at some point all 5 characters suddenly turned into the same person and tortured the smaller person in the same way, same passion and always in agreement with eachother on everything. Their unique individual personalities were gone. So many writers fall into that trap and mindless repetitive torture for 12 chapters with no advancement.

But so far so good. So much detail, emotion and that every action sets a lot of things in motion.

Thanks again, Asterix. 80 percent of the stories on this site are cheap crap with onrealistic transitions and characters. You really have to look good to find goed shrinking, growing or size difference stories.

Looking forward to the next chapter. :)

@0neGenericWord, @Acient Relic, @Jimbob.

Agree with all your points.

How long was Eva out, how much damage was done on her physical body?
For Tina not to have been there or keep her with her, it must have been serious.

Very interested how Tina will manage work with so many distractions in her head.

I hope they both learn their lessons.

Tina testing out her water and photosynthesis theory on Eva.

I see a few directions Eva can go in from here:

1) It's obvious that she's wearing down mentally, no doubt aided by physical exhaustion, and it could plausibly become irreversible soon.

2) Eva's starting to get a sense that, if the roles were switched, she'd be just as bad if not worse. That train of thought could lead to a major change in her.

3) Some development at the office, probably from Amy or Dana, could set them both on a different course.

The psychological element here is better done than in like 95% of other giant stories, just the way both Eva and Tina think through the predicaments theyve found themselves in and how the reality of the situation presses up against their logical/moral sides is so fucking good in that "pit in the bottom of your stomach" way.

Very super chapter again. Every detail in thought nicely written down. So complete I can't add something in my review. To write everything down what a character is feeling in so much detail.

The hardest thing is that because of these mood swings of Tina, adjusting or getting rest is super hard. Again, the chapter describe this in great detail.

I like this weird storm in emotions these two characters got locked in. Eva is learning a lot and maybe change in a better person.

I imagine Tina can't function properly at work or life, because she can't talk to others about her experience, and Eva is always on her mind. She can't fully concentrate on work that is keep piling up. For her, there is also no rest in her mnd because of everything she has to keep into account al time.

@Ancient Relic.

Agreed. The moment she kidnapped Eva, the point of no return already started, but only as time progresses she comes more aware of it.
I fully agree with your whole comment and had the same thoughts. The only few possibilities to let Eva go and one you described. Making it a cold case is also an option.

I also have a feeling their is a twist coming with Amy's testing. Will those discoveries put more pressure on Tina or alleviate the pressure on her? Would it be in Eva benefit or not? Probebly something in between or something.  It will propably be something subtle, with a lot of possibility for interesting events.

Everything is also about timing and when things come into play to keep the story interesting.

In your second part of your text, your describtion of Tina I fully aree with.
Tina had some idea how to punish Eva and getting precisly the desired outcome.
But too many variables she didn't take into account in this rollercoaster of emotions in unkwon territory.
She also cannot confide in someone to tell the story. Maybe it will develop that she tries to confide to someone in her circle. Not be able too tell what is bothering you to no one, also makes is hard.

It also keeps working on the mind, that your enemy is completely defenceless and already defeated and tortured at high mental level. As time progresses it is just harder and harder to stay angry at a one inch woman.

There are so much more interesting emotions that come into play. I enjoy every chapter update as those emotions get explored further.

Author's Response:

I shan't comment on the speculation, but I will say this exchange has been both very flattering and amusing haha.

@Barrowman: Tina is definitely nervous about something, as you say, and I bet that it's going to develop in to something. We already know that Dana is concerned about Eva's wellbeing, and my impression is that if Dana found out what happened to Eva, Tina would be fired and probably arrested. So Tina's keeping a secret. But as time goes on, it'll become increasingly clear that Eva is a missing person. How exactly is Tina going to keep her secret as the pressure mounts? She's has to; letting Eva go is not an option, she'll just reveal everything...unless Tina manages to break Eva so completely that she keeps the secret? The alternative seems to be to make Eva a cold case. I see one potential twist coming: whatever Amy's testing may provide another option.

Tina's nervousness also shows consciousness of guilt: Tina shows awareness that she's doing something wrong, something that society would not approve of. We're at the midpoint of a corruption arc: Tina is still aware of the good way to go about this, but she's also gone so deep into the bad way to go about this that she can't just go back to where she was at the beginning of the story. Eva's also near the midpoint of her own arc, although there's a number of plausible directions that it could go in.

@Barrowman: Either that, or a major mental break. If Eva isn't instantly trying to get help, then it seems like she'll be a big step closer to being broken next chapter, and then we see how Tina reacts to signs that she's actually making progress in breaking a bully...

@Ancient Relic. It could be the case being a step close. I don't think a complete breakdown.
A physical exhaustion because of the breaking point. Maybe she will be unconcious for the rest of the day. Which in turn will actually give rest.

Tina's punishment of Eva, even in the physical, was more aimed at the mental stuff. To humiliate. This punishment seems more to really do physical damage and getting her stress out. She rarely sees Eva's face or mental state in this scene and has to guess how humiliated she is.

Something is clearly bothering Tina, as if she needs to hurry to get some sort result as if she is pressed for time. She can never leave her alone in her cage and brining her with her gives tension and she has to think about work and not being caught. That will have consequences for her mental fitness. The fear of losing what she has is always there.

It is always interesting with shrinking stories with the giantess who punish the tiny, that they are never fully aware, even the smart thinkers, how much damage they are doing on every level until seeing the results. They have an estimate, but it is always interesting what they all realize at a certain time on their interesting journey.

Why I like this story so much is that the writer put in so much effort to record so many details in the logistics, feelings and logical consequences(also emotional) on certin events/actions on so many levels that it feels like the real world.

In too many stories on this site, the torture will stay in one place and the characters feel one dimensional as there are zero (emotional) consequences for actions taken.

Here I see Tina and Eva in a world where they have relationships with other people. In a subtle way we get to know more and more about the background and relationships of the characters.

There is so much more other interesting development, clues and misdirections in this story.

Can't wait for the next chapter.

Eva came so close to overhearing some interesting things, yet so far. What are they testing? And what do other people around the office think of her? It'll be interesting to see if Part 2 picks up on this, especially now that Dana's present.

And how much of a bump in a shirt would a one inch woman make? Small, but still noticeable if someone looks there?

Tina is a meek, mild-mannered person with a dark desire to dominate bullies, and now that she can act on it, it's changing her. Walter White was a meek, mild-mannered person who always had the seed of pride, and when he was able to bring it out, it completely changed him. Are we watching a giantess breaking bad?

Interesting chapter again.
Tina forced herself to be extra carefull. Again. those fine details in logistics and thought patterns as time progresses is interesting. I like what difficulties both Eva and Tina have.

This part is also intersting.

“Um…” Tina probably awkwardly veered her eyes there. A safe bet said she adjusted her glasses too. “I guess you could say that. I kinda actually-”

Lot of speculation possible.
What I like through all the physical(That experience is Eva only) and mental torture(that is for both Eva and Tina), they maybe start to know more about eachother. Before the shrink, it was mostly surface, how weird that maybe sound.
"The lesson in respect", will hopefully apply both to them in the end as they somewhat walk in eachothers shoe.

I love your 3 dimensional characters with complex feelings. I miss that to much in other stories on Giantessworld that are pure one sided torture with 1 dimensional characters with no redeeming qualities.

This development steps up the tension nicely. Previously, it was a question of when and how the two will mentally break. Tina was safe in every other way. Now, Dana is showing concern for Eva, which seems to have caught Tina by surprise. This could lead to an interesting parallel, where both Eva and Tina get in trouble because they misread their co-workers. This story could go in a lot of interesting directions.

Also, I personally like a long chapter.
