Am I safe in assuming Irina Orlov is an original character?* Perhaps the not-so-good general's daughter by Frau Bunt?

*Btw: in real-world Russian, her surname would be "Orlova."

Author's Response:

Irina is an original character. I only knew the four from the classic era. General Gogol was too nice a character, Major Amasova was probably more career oriented, Colonel Klebb was implied to be a lesbian, and General Orlov, who always struck me as the type to have mistresses all over the Eastern Bloc. And I apologize for not picking up on the difference between the male and female version of the last name. An oversight on my part.
