This chapter felt sloppier than the others. The dialogue and actions of the characters were harder to follow.

Such as the part where it says Gen grabs his hand and pulls him closer, then pushes him with her hands on his back. In my head, I can't wrap my head around how they're positioned on couches in order to make this movement.

Otherwise, the dialogue doesn't flow like there are people talking. Scenes like, "That got a big “Ha!” out of her." the usual phrasing is "the waitress let out an exagerrated sigh" and it doesn't need revisions.

I think the main thing that bothers me is the spacing, it all looks very bunched and clumped together. It's probably an error from porting the writing over to the website.

Author's Response:

A sardonic, single “Ha!” is in no way similar to an exaggerated sigh. One signifies you’ve touched on something they can’t wait to tell you about those people, the other is “whatever, I don’t care” and you get a two word answer.

"'Big. Girls. Get. Bigger.'"
Didn't think that learning what 'BGGB' stood for would be so satisfying.

Several interesting things were revealed toward the end of this chapter.

  1. Atlasian males "ain’t all there":
Now that is suspicious! I'm guessing that the experiments that created them also left Atlasian men mentally impaired.
Theo's scores at his former university were mentioned to be mediocre. So it would be pretty funny if he were actually smart by their standards.
  2. Atlasian females get bigger each generation:
That actually makes a lot of sense; evolution does not just end! As for why they evolved this way, I'm guessing it's a combination of the experiments and the fact that they are the ones giving birth, which is a lot easier with relatively small babies.
  3. The attitudes of Atlasian females:
I guess it's only natural for them to consider themselves superior with such a difference in scale. Personally, hope we will get evil girls who abuse their size.
  4. Half-blood Atlesian females are even bigger than pure-bloods:
I'm guessing this is a result of gene imbalance. Also, I think it's pretty obvious that Roxanne is one of these hybrids (more on that later).
  5. Atlesian females are the minority:
I'm guessing that, since they were created by a bunch of white supremacists, females were only ever meant to be baby factories for more males. Or, because of their size, Atlesian females are so fertile that more women just are not needed.
  6. Atlesian females are suppressed:
This was briefly mentioned before, but this chapter gives so much more context!
I'm guessing this is because the government either does not want the human genome altered, as Atlesian genes present an existential threat to the survival of the species, or they are afraid of the rapid evolution of the species, as they could potentially grow out of control (literally)!

Now, with only two days left before the start of the semester, I can sense Roxanne's official introduction coming in the next chapter or the one after that. As I mentioned in point 4, It's pretty obvious that Roxanne is a human-Atlesian hybrid, which will no doubt have major ramifications for her character. I'm still sticking with my theory that Roxanne used to be teased for being (relatively) small, only to end up outgrowing her bullies. However, this revelation can potentially give even more dimensions to her, like: she hates humans because her human parent abandoned her, which she will take out on Theo.
I'm also still hoping that, when Roxanne returns to college, she will be even bigger than what Camille and Gen remember, having entered her second growth spurt.

Finally, with this chapter ending on such a line, "Big. Girls. Get. Bigger", I hope the story's pacing will start picking up when classes finally start, cause I want to see these big girls get even bigger!

(I hope this gets a response from the author!)

Author's Response:

You nailed several points… one thing I would say is, I feel like despite their huge size, Atlasian males would be slightly less aggressive or decisive than men from the core… just as Atlasian women would be at times overconfident or self absorbed.  That’s what I was thinking when I wrote that they didn’t seem “all there.”

I think there are small quirks to the Atlasian culture that would cause them to be misread by others, based on their unique sets of issues.  One thing I thought about… if every generation of females is bigger than the last, there has to be some concern about resources, mating, or other issues for the future. They certainly thought the size would level off generations ago, but it’s done anything but that.  The size gap is becoming more problematic every year.

Great world building. Hopefully we get Roxy next chapter.
