A pagan agrarian fertility cult that was active in the Friulian region of northern Italy until stamped out by the Roman Catholic Church circa the mid-17th century. Legend had it they could shapeshift into wolves; similar to the kresniki (vampire-hunting werewolves) of Croatian folklore.
