I've seen the first few episodes. Seemed pretty good. A few variations but it was fairly true to the story.

You'll definitely see some of Issun's backstory. Hope you enjoy it. Sorry about not using Hop. If I had these stories to do over, I probably would have included him from the beginning. He's fun to write.

great story as usual. an very informative. im very intrigued by this time period. love how playful the women seem to get when ever tom is around. cant wait to see what happens in chapter 2.

Thanks. Not sure how accurate to the time period I am. I try to include some historical elements but at the end of the day, this is very much an idealized, fantasy-version of the 6th century. But hey, that's how I like it. ;)

Depends on what you mean by backstory. If you mean the original stories they're from, I'll briefly recap the important bits in the dialogue, but won't be retelling them in full. If you mean how each of them was recruited to the team, then yes.

Hey-hey! Welcome home, Sir P. I was beginning to think those slave-drivers at AC Comics had shang-haied you back for good ("...he joked, half-seriously").
It might be an over-used cliche' to say that the opening chapter of this prequel more than makes up for lost time. But, I regard it as indisputably true, none-the-less. :-)
