With this and the other story set in this universe, how red spice makes these women bloodthristy has always bothered me and does make it hard at times to fully enjoy the story.  It makes me wonder how the population can continue in this world if the men are treated like garbage.  I'd be running for the hills and hiding.  And forbidding spice in those regions that men still control.  Anyways, the ray of hope in this story was Livia.  But with her talk with her mother a couple of chapters back, I'm going to assume that this gentle giantess will probably become just as violent and bloodthirsty as all the others.  Still the story is well writtten and is compelling enough to hold my interest, despite my discomfort.

Author's Response:

Thanks for your input. I've put a lot of thought into trying to maintain a balance here, and I think I have a solution that will please most readers. I don't want to go into any more detail, for fear of spoilers, but I think I've found a good middle path. Livia will become more conflicted, more gray, but she's not going to turn into her sister any time soon.

Thanks, I'll try to have the next chapter (or at least part of it) out by next weekend.

Oh my, now we'll see the true madness begin. Nice twist, I actually believed this was the real ceremony.

Thanks, I'm glad the sleight of hand worked.
