I kind off wandered if beta's were more than just the innocent victims they're made out to be. It doesn't excuse all the horrors enacted against them but it's nice to finaly see some grey area. How ironic is it that the biggest most powerful faction is being so expertly manipulated by the smallest "weakest" one?

Irony in its purest form. It is important to note that these Betas are in the minority, and most really are just normal people trying to heal from their victimized past. Nathaniel and his friends are just taking it a few steps further.

I knew it! Well had a strong feeling anyways that Bridge was telling the truth, it seems every universe etc has their own...I don't want to say Isis style militants but anarchists might fit better here. Hopefully justice is done.

Interesting parallel. I'm not sure I'd quite call the Betas anarchists, since they do believe there should be structure, but Nathaniel is definitely unhappy with the one in place now. Thanks for reading!

Kind of embarrassed I didn’t figure it out sooner. Kept coming up with more elaborate ways she could have been framed without coming to the obvious. I just couldn’t come up with a reason why betas would hurt themselves like that but this definitely went a long way toward explaining things (including the title of the story.)

It definitely takes very firm belief in a cause to do what these Betas did to themselves. And this chapter was certainly meant to finally define the title, in more ways than one.
