Wait if Carley can go outside the flow of time to manipulate causality, then whatever the fuck Derrick has for magical defense must be op lol. I'm imagining he maybe became an archaeologist or something (since he should be in his late 20s too) and found an artifact or some kind of item that allowed him to be immune to magic overall.
