Author's Chapter Notes:

Some pretty big stuff goes down this chapter, hence why it's a bit long. Hang on to your pants. :P

Chapter 9

If Amy felt she was a spectacle before, strutting around in only her bikini took things to a completely different level. There where audible gasps, whistles, and whispers of amazement as she walked to the vacant spot on the beach. Her pale breasts, having almost never been exposed to the sun, pushed her top to its limit, wobbling with every step. Though she could have lived without the whistling, Amy smiled and soaked up the attention.

Once they'd arrived, Megan opened the beach umbrella and plopped down. Crawling underneath the umbrella, Amy was thankful she could just barely sit underneath it without bumping her head. Digging her hand in the bag, she pulled out a bottle of sunscreen and shook it vigorously.

"Wanna help me out, Meg?" she asked cheerfully.

"Huh? Are you kidding? Get a guy to do it for you. That's half the fun."

"Not for me. That'd just feel weird, like I'm cheating on Nolan or something."

Megan raised an eyebrow at her friend. "Getting a glorified back massage is not cheating, Amy. Every guy on this beach would be dying to do it."

"Just do it, Meg. Please."

Though she didn't appreciate Amy's suddenly commanding tone, Megan nonetheless took the bottle from her friend.

"Thanks," Amy chirped. She turned and exposed her bare back. "Start wherever you want."

Trying not to picture herself as a servant to her mighty friend, Megan rose to her feet and squirted a bit of lotion onto her palms. Even sitting down, Amy wasn't much shorter than Megan was standing. As she rubbed her lotion-covered hands around the vast expanse of Amy's back, she couldn't help but marvel at its flawlessness. There didn't seem to be a single bump, blemish or bruise on Amy's immaculate body. If only her own skin could be so soft and smooth. As Megan knelt down and put the finishing touches on the small of Amy's back, a man's nervous voice caught her attention.

"E-excuse me, ladies? I think one of you dropped this."

Both women turned around to meet the gaze of a guy a few years younger than themselves, wearing a white t-shirt and black bathing suit. Probably a good five or six inches shorter than Megan's towering six feet, he sported a rather slim build with light skin and blonde hair. In his grip was a handheld console, coated in sand that was gradually shaking off thanks to his trembling hand.

"Daniel?! Hey!" she exclaimed. "Thanks a lot! Can you put it down on my bag over there? We're a little wrapped up at the moment."

The young man blinked a few times before stepping back in shock, recognizing Amy's voice but barely believing it belonged to this supersized, voluptuous beauty.

"Amy?!" he exclaimed, his jaw nearly hitting the ground. "Holy sh...I mean, wow. I'm sorry. I just, um, you look so different, um...I mean, without your glasses."

"Yeah, I'm sure that's what you noticed first," Amy remarked with a hearty laugh. "Don't worry, I still have trouble recognizing my own reflection in the mirror sometimes. So are you here with some buddies?"

"No, just here unwinding after a pretty brutal semester." Daniel rubbed the back of his head and smiled sheepishly. "I, uh, don't exactly have a lot of friends. Consequence of studying all the time, you know? "

"Do I ever! I'm lucky my roomie and boyfriend are social or I'd probably turn into a hermit." Keeping an eye on Daniel, Megan leaned her forearm on Amy's shoulder.

"So how do you know this kid, anyway?" Megan asked under her breath.

"He was in my neurobiology class last semester," Amy whispered back. "Really cute and sweet, but super shy. He actually worked up the courage to ask me out, but I was already with Nolan. Took it really well, though. We were even lab partners later on and it worked out great. Wasn't just me, either; he was friendly to everyone. Just a real sweetheart."

"Well, he is cute, I'll give you that. Granted, it's a dorky sort of cute, but it counts." Megan turned back towards Daniel and sized him up, looking up and down his body several times. The young man's face turned red as he noticed Megan's gaze, no doubt nervous to see the two women discussing him. "I'll take your word on the rest. So you gonna introduce me or keep pretending I'm not here?"

Amy gasped and nodded before turning to Daniel with a smile.

"Whoops! Um, Daniel, this is my roommate, Megan."

"P-pleased to meet you," Daniel stammered as the much taller raven-haired woman slowly approached him.

"Same. So you're one of Amy's friends, huh? Well, if you want someone to hang out with, I've got some friends coming in a bit. You're welcome to chill with us until then."

"Oh, wow, that'd be great! Thanks."

"Not to be rude, but I was about to go lay down and get some sun for the first time in forever. I'm sure you two will keep each other good company, right?"

"Hey!" Megan shouted, holding up the bottle of sunscreen. "You can't run off without returning the favor."

"What'd you tell me earlier, Meg? I believe your exact words were 'get a guy to do it'?" Amy stuck her tongue out with a smirk. "Maybe you can find a willing one?"

Looking from Daniel to Amy a few times, Megan laughed and nodded.

"Well, you heard the lady. Are you up to the task, big guy?"

"Wait, me? I've...well, I'll try, but I've never..."

"Guess what? You're about to." Megan tossed the bottle towards Daniel and smiled.

Grabbing a book and her beach towel, Amy stood up, careful not to put her head straight through the umbrella. As she walked away, she glanced over her shoulder and smiled as Megan removed her shirt to reveal her black bikini. If Daniel's face turned any redder, Amy worried he might actually faint.

Poor little guy had no idea what he's being roped into, Amy giggled to herself. Meg certainly does have a soft spot for the shy ones. Guess I'll give them a little bit of space.

About ten yards from the umbrella, Amy laid out a beach towel that rivaled a bedsheet in size. She laid back and sprawled out on the towel, feeling as relaxed as she had in a long time. Amy smiled as she imagined how many people were admiring her newfound beauty. Shutting her eyes, she tuned out the crowd noise and focused on the crashing waves, the cool ocean breeze and the warm sun beating down on her fair skin. As time passed, she lost herself in the sounds and her thoughts began to wander.

If only they made beach chairs for giants, I'd be in heaven right now. Maybe I could make one. Could I? Probably not. Teleporting things is different than making them out of thin air. Besides, I shouldn't use my powers in public.

....or should you? Are you just going to hide them the rest of your life? Even if someone saw it, who would believe it? You have the power to make stuff appear from thin air! How are you supposed to have such an incredible gift and not use it?

Keeping her eyes shut and picturing what she wanted, Amy snapped her fingers and, on the first try, felt herself lift up as an appropriately sized beach chair materialized beneath her with a loud pop. Amy looked down at it in disbelief, tapping the armrests to make certain they were real.

Holy crap, that worked! That actually worked! Did I enlarge a normal chair or did I literally create one from nothing?!

Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a second, unintended creation at her side; a small, white table with a strawberry daiquiri atop it. While she was still in shock, she couldn't help but crack a smile.

Wow, I didn't even think of that...not that I'm complaining.

Unfortunately, the sound was loud enough to catch a few people's attention, including Megan's. Hastily excusing herself from her conversation with Daniel, she stormed over and placed both her hands on the table with a scowl. Amy smiled and waved, but Megan was having none of it.

"Amy, what the hell?!" Megan asked quietly but forcefully. "Are you out of your fucking mind?! People are staring! What happened to not using your powers?!"

With the smile fading from her face, Amy rested her chin on one hand and stared into Megan's eyes, making the smaller woman a tad nervous. Sitting stretched out on the beach chair, one leg arched and her ring-bearing hand resting on her knee, Megan felt the she bore an eerie resemblance to an ancient ruler like Cleopatra, laid out on her throne and addressing one of her subjects.

Queen Amy...oh, God. The very thought of kneeling before Amy made Megan's stomach drop like a rock. Like I didn't have enough outlandish, terrifying ideas in my head.

"I talked myself into using them," Amy explained. "Now that it doesn't feel like a dream, it's finally starting to sink in how crazy this is. I can make stuff happen just wanting it! Why can't I take advantage of that just a little bit? Besides, so what if a few people see weird stuff happening? What're they going to do, call the Ghostbusters?"

"No, Amy, they'll call the military, which I'm sure is waiting to pounce on any excuse to haul us both away to some secret base for interrogation or experiments. Can't you try and keep it under control a bit?"

As soon as those words left her mouth, Megan regretted them. Clearly irritated and defensive, Amy rose from her chair, reminding Megan just how tiny she was in comparison. With the superpowered giantess looming over her, arms crossed and scowling, Megan's earlier anxiety come flooding back and washed away her anger.

"Listen, Meg, you have no clue what I'm dealing with. I can feel this enormous energy bubbling up inside me, lingering right below the surface, just waiting to explode." Her voice grew louder and her tone harsher. "I thought I was doing a pretty fucking good job considering I'm restraining that. Apparently not, though, because here I am getting yelled at for daring to use a tiny little sliver of power to make myself comfortable! It's not like I caused a tsunami or made the world turn backwards! But hey, I guess if you were in my position, you'd just be twiddling your thumbs and handling this no problem, huh?"

Megan's knees began to quiver and she feared she might collapse at any second as her courage rapidly evaporated. Being the subject of her Amy's superhuman ire was far more frightening than she'd imagined, and Megan was certain the air around them was growing hotter as Amy's temper flared. Even worse, she noticed Amy's ring was glowing once again, no doubt feeding her even more strength. Desperate to calm the situation, Megan gulped and chose her next words carefully.

"You're absolutely right, Amy, I don't know what you're experiencing," Megan conceded. "Sorry. I shouldn't have gotten angry like that. What you do is none of my business."

"Damn right it's not," Amy spat before cringing a bit at her own words. "Ugh, I'm being kind of a bitch right now, huh?" With a sigh, she uncrossed her arms and brushed away a bit of her blonde hair, her expression softening a bit. "Look, I'm not going to stop using my powers just because someone tells me to, okay? They're mine and mine alone. But you're right about getting unwanted attention. I'll try and be a little more careful."

"Thank you," Megan answered weakly. At this point, she would settle for whatever she could get in a situation where she had no leverage. Had Amy simply told her to fuck off, she wouldn't have had much recourse.

"You're welcome." Amy answered before laying back down. "Now I'm going back to relaxing."

Megan simply nodded and started walking back to the umbrella, nursing her wounded pride. Never one to back down in an argument, Megan was disgusted at how quickly she'd caved when Amy merely stood up. Her fingernails dug into her palms as she clenched her fists and kicked up a bit of sand, both in frustration at herself and in envy of her friend's incredible might.

Fantastic. Amy's getting more brazen, more assertive, and, apparently, I made her even more powerful by just by having the gall to argue with her! How is that fair?! Goddammit, I can't even convince myself I'm not jealous anymore. I would give anything to be in her position. Huge, powerful, curvaceous, magically empowered...I would be so out of control. Hell, I'd probably make myself even bigger than Amy if I could. Way bigger. Fifteen feet? Nah, like, two stories tall. I'd have little doll-sized people adoring me, waiting on me hand and foot, and they'd absolutely love doing it. Fuck, I need to stop fantasizing about this. All it's going to do is make me even more envious.

Returning to her beach towel, she found Daniel seated in the same spot, staring at her with wide eyes. "Wow, Megan, that was really impressive!" he gushed.

"Don't patronize me, Daniel," Megan growled.

"No, I mean it! The way you stood your ground there? I have no idea that was all about, but wow, having the guts to argue with someone so big? Most people would have been scared out of their wits. Hell, I was afraid of her from all the way over here!"

Oh, right, my back was to him, so he couldn't see me cowering like a little girl.

"Yeah, I wasn't really fazed," Megan lied with a glance over her shoulder. She puffed her chest out a bit and smiled. "She was intimidating, sure, but I wasn't actually scared or anything."

"Well, I thought it was amazing," Daniel remarked, blushing a bit. "Thanks again for letting me stick around, by the way."

Megan nodded and smiled. "What can I say? I enjoy the company."

And the admiration sure doesn't hurt.

After Megan settled down close to Daniel, the two spent the next half hour chatting. More accurately, Megan did the vast majority of the talking, though this suited the awkward Daniel just fine. Lost in telling one of her stories, Megan was interrupted by Amy squealing. Snapping her head around, she caught sight of Claire and one of her sycophants backing away from Amy's chair as the giant woman tried to stand up in a panic but ultimately putting her foot through the chair. Stumbling over, Amy fell forward onto the table she'd created, flattening it with her enormous chest. Even worse, while doing whatever had startled Amy to begin with, the women had apparently loosened the ties on her bikini, causing her to shed both her top and bottom as she plummeted face-first into the sand.

"Down goes Queen Kong!" Claire crowed.

"Guess I should have yelled timber!" chimed one of her cohorts.

Amy slowly wiggled her leg free from the chair, but remained lying on the ground.

"That's what you get for trying to show me up, nerd," Claire taunted as she began to walk away. "I don't care how big you are, you'll always be dorky Amy. Know your place, you giant freak."

Claire's cackling was cut off by Megan's fist popping her square in the jaw, sending her reeling.

"You fucking lunatic!" Megan screamed. "What is wrong with you?! Do you get off on this or are you just a sociopath?!"

As Amy lay prone in the sand, anger and disbelief flooded her mind. Once again embarrassed and victimized by Claire, pent-up rage began to bubble to the surface.

That little bitch! That little! Fucking! BITCH! Were all those years of torment and misery she put you through not enough?! All the pain and suffering she inflicted on you?! Fine, if that little human doesn't respect you, maybe she needs to see more. A LOT more. No one humiliates the most powerful being in the universe and gets away with it!

Megan peered over her shoulder to see Amy's ring glowing far brighter than she'd ever seen before. The same light spread and engulfed the rest of Amy's body as she rose to her hands and knees.

"She's going to pay..." Amy declared through gritted teeth. She pounded her fist, driving it a good foot into the ground and sending a plume of sand into the air.

Booming thunder rumbled from nearby, getting the attention of Megan and nearly everyone else on the beach.

What the hell? There wasn't a cloud in the sky ten seconds ago.

Looking up, Megan felt as though she was watching time lapse footage of a thunderstorm forming. Dark clouds rapidly filled the once-clear sky impossibly fast, and lightning arced between them with alarming frequency. While she was no scientist, she knew storms did not normally form this way. Fearing Amy's emotions were letting her powers run wild, Megan gathered herself and called out to her friend.

"P-please calm down, Amy! We can handle this a better way!"

Ignoring Megan's pleas, the giantess slowly stood up, the ring's light still burning strong. Each foot stomped the ground, churning the sand beneath them. Too livid to care about her massive, naked body being on full display, Amy clenched her fists and glared at Claire as a strong wind began to howl.

You can't stand for such disrespect! Make an example of her! You are nothing less than a god to these powerless mortals! Show everyone what happens when you cross the almighty Amy!

"CLAAAAAAAAIRE!"

Amy's booming voice resonated across the beach, reverberating like it came through the world's largest loudspeakers. In literally the blink of an eye, Amy closed the twenty foot gap between herself and Claire, leaving not so much as a footprint behind. Claire screamed, first in surprise at Amy's sudden appearance and then in pain as the raging goddess grabbed the smaller girl by her long, blonde hair. Feeling her feet leave the ground, Claire continued to wail as she was lifted past Amy's midriff and colossal breasts before being met with her furious gaze.

"How DARE you?!" Amy roared as another rumble of thunder echoed nearby. "Who the hell do you think you are?!"

The wind picked up, and Claire was forced to shut her eyes from the sand pelting her face. "I'm sorry, Amy!" she screamed. "Oh God, I'm so sorry! Please put me down!"

"Seriously, how stupid are you?! You're pathetic! I could probably snap you in half without trying, yet you still thought I'd be same old pushover?!"

"I'm really sorry!" Clare insisted over the roaring wind, holding back tears. "I don't even know why I did it, honest! I was being a fucking jealous bitch! Oh God, I'll do anything, just don't hurt me!"

"Yeah, I'll bet you're sorry! Sorry you finally fucked with the wrong person! Do you feel helpless now, Claire?! Good! Now you know how I felt for years, suffering through all your bullying that I couldn't stop!"

Megan looked around the beach in fear as the tempest continued to rage. Everyone else had fled for cover as the wind sent everything from beach towels to umbrellas flying across the beach. Over the ocean, multiple waterspouts churned about and an endless stream of lightning bolts fell from the heavens. Fearing the weather onshore may soon grow equally violent, Megan sprinted towards Amy in desperation.

"Please stop this, Amy!" Megan yelled over the roaring wind. "Even if that little bitch does deserve it, it's not right! She's not worth it!"

When Amy looked down at her, Megan feared she might become the next to her friend's divine wrath. Instead, the two silently locked eyes while Amy continued to dangle Claire in her grasp. After a tense moment, Amy exhaled and the howling wind died down. Both her anger and the raging storm were quelled as quickly as they had flared up.

"You know what, Meg? You're right," Amy conceded. "She's not worth it." A little smirk formed on Amy's face as she looked back at Claire. "She's thinks she's big and tough, but she's really just a sad, scared little girl."

Amy lowered Claire to waist level before dropping her unceremoniously, leaving her to land square on her rear.

"Just because I'm letting you go doesn't mean I'm done with you, Claire. You better straighten up, understand? Because the next time I find about you tormenting and bullying someone - and I will find out - you won't get this lucky again. Am I making myself perfectly clear?"

Claire stayed silent but nodded furiously in response.

"Good. Now get out of my sight."

Without missing a beat, Claire stood up and scampered off as fast as her legs would carry her. After moment of watching the tiny woman flee, Amy turned her attention to herself. She looked over her nude body, curling and wiggling her fingers and toes before stretching her entire body skyward with a sigh. Daring to break the silence, Megan cleared her throat and spoke up.

"Amy? How do you feel?"

"How do I feel?" Amy laughed without turning to face her friend. "How do I feel?!"

The giantess extended her right hand towards the ground nearby. Without warning, several bolts of lightning streaked from her hand and violently blasted the nearby sand, the deafening thunderclaps making Megan squeal and stumble backwards until she fell flat on her butt. Try as she might to stand up again, her body refused to cooperate, leaving her stuck trembling in fear on her hands and knees.

Continuing to toy with her new powers, Amy looked towards the ocean and puffed. A moment later, a huge swath of water, at least the half the size of a football field, hardened into a thick sheet of ice.

Still not satisfied, she pointed at a beach chair and umbrella. After a moment, the objects began to shrink down, dwindling smaller and smaller until they resembled dollhouse furniture. Wiggling her finger, she summoned the miniaturized objects to her hand and clenched her fist, smashing them to bits. Finally, she turned around and looked down at her friend with an uncharacteristic smirk.

"Fucking. Amazing."

The giantess sauntered over to Megan, stopping only a few feet away, standing with hands on her hips and engulfing Megan in her shadow. At that moment, Megan felt smaller and more helpless than any human being ever had. Kneeling motionless in the sand, she felt utterly terrified of the enormous, godlike being her roommate had become, having no idea what to expect from someone with such unfathomable power at their disposal. Amy loomed over her like a goddess in human form, her naked, youthful body nothing less than nine and a half feet of perfection, her flawless skin glistening with sweat as the sun peeked out from the parting clouds.

"Bowing to me, huh?" Amy asked with a hint of amusement. "Gods do enjoy worship."

Amy's words turned Megan's veins to ice. Not wanting to risk being charred to ash or shrunk into a doll, she lowered her head to the ground to further the appearance of humility, trying her best to stay composed until she heard Amy burst into hysterics from above.

"Geez, Meg, it was just a joke!" Amy laughed. "Did you really think I'd make my best friend submit to me? Seriously, though, get up. You look ridiculous."

Lifting her head, Megan was surprised to see the blonde behemoth bent over with hands outstretched, gesturing for Megan to take them. Worried Amy might accidentally yank her arms from their sockets with her absurd strength, she nonetheless reached out and held on. Thankfully, Amy was quite gentle and slowly pulled her friend to her feet.

"T-thank you, " Megan managed as she stepped back.

"Hey, couldn't just leave you hanging, right?" She pat Megan on the head and rubbed some sand out of her hair.

"R-right."

Amy narrowed her eyebrows and scoffed. "Meg, chill out! You're as pale as a ghost! I'm still me, you know! Don't be afraid, I'm not going to hurt anyone. Hell, not even Claire. Okay, yeah, my temper got the best of me, but I just wanted to scare the little skank, not put her in the hospital."

Megan said nothing in response, simply nodding meekly.

"Still scared, huh? I guess I can't really blame you, because I did put on quite a show and I'm probably acting a little weird. But I can't help it! This is such a fucking rush! I'm more powerful than anyone has ever imagined! Whatever I'm becoming, this is the best fucking thing to ever happen to me! I feel absolutely unstoppable! Invincible!"

Those words made Megan's stomach do backflips, mostly because of the truth behind them. What in the world could possibly stop this newly born deity? Amy had been granted the size and power of a god, and nothing could hope to stand in her way.

"It's actually pretty funny," Amy mused. "When I first grew, I was scared out of my mind. I thought I was turning into a monster. But now, my size is the greatest part of all this. I love being so fucking big! Everyone has to look up to me! Way up! From the instant people see me, they'll know I'm the most powerful person there's ever been."

After taking another look at the devastated beach, Amy turned back to Megan.

"We're going home," Amy declared abruptly. "Your friends will understand. I've got a heck of a lot of thinking to do...and some needs to satisfy. I'd love to have Nolan handle them, but I think he's going to need all his energy for what I have planned tomorrow."

With a snap of Amy's fingers, she was dressed in her shirt and shorts once again. After another snap, all of their belongings packed themselves away in their beach bags, which then propelled themselves towards Amy and hovered around her as though they were toted by invisible servants.

"I could get used to this," Amy laughed deeply, amused by how effortlessly she performed such incredible acts.

Holding her head high and showing more confidence than ever before in her life, the titaness turned and headed towards the parking lot, the air crackling with energy in her wake.

Megan simply gazed around the disaster stricken beach in awe, with towels, umbrellas and random belongings strewn all over the place. Looking upwards, she noticed that the sky was once again devoid of clouds, the storm dissipating as suddenly as it formed. With caution, she peered into the pit Amy's lightning bolts had created and marveled at the smoldering crater.

Holy shit. Holy SHIT. How the fuck is this possible?! It's just a piece of jewelry! How can it turn a tiny little nerd into a giant, voluptuous goddess that can bend reality to her will?! What is she going to do first, anoint herself queen of a country? Fuck, maybe she doesn't even need to do anything! Am I going to wake up to a completely different world tomorrow, one completely rewritten to suit Amy's wants and needs? What the fuck am I supposed to do?

Deep down, she worried she already knew the answer. Along with every other person on the planet, she was completely at the mercy of Amy's desires. What Megan or anyone else wanted was utterly meaningless. The only thing that prevented her from having a nervous breakdown was that Amy had reaffirmed Megan's status as her best friend when she could have just as easily dubbed her a servant. Though her inhibitions seemed to gone, Amy's kind personality was still mostly intact, at least for the moment.

Okay, Meg. You might be the only person on the planet who can do anything to stop this. Tomorrow, you're going to the mall where she got that ring and finding out where the hell it came from. Why would someone make a ring that granted omnipotence and not wear it themselves? There has to be an explanation.

"Megan! Now!" Amy's voice boomed from far away, startling Megan from her thoughts.

But first, you need to actually need to survive until tomorrow, Megan thought before scampering off to follow Amy.
