Within his subconscious mind, he was having a conversation with his
so-called spiritual guardian.
“Why are you here, I mean is there any point anymore for
even I to exist?”
“There is… Your existence matter to what you really are,
it’s your law, not mine. But at the same time, you have to
believe that you can live in this type of world now.”
“And what world is that? A world where I am nothing but an
insect to the normals? It doesn’t matter to me anymore. My
daughter is gone, she don’t need me anymore than I need
her. And you know, I know it, and even he up there know
it. So just spare me the words, and let me finish off my
soul or what’s left of it.”
“That’s where you’re wrong. Do you even know why you
decide to hop on your daughter yesterday?”
“I just wanted to start a new life again.”
“That is the whole point; you chose to spare yourself
another day to live in a new world now. You believe that
you’re existence may still be worthy, but now you must set
yourself on a new test.”
“What test is that?”
“You’ll know soon enough.”
He was at a twitch moment, another test sent by God he
thought. What else is more to do? He knows that later on
to night that the enemy will return it was a feeling he
hoped he maybe be wrong about.
About two hours later, Carrie returned home. Chris was
hiding under her bed as she sat down on her bed and was on
her cell phone. Chris was just staring at the right heel
of her left shoe, since he was apparently was about more
than a couple of inches away from it. He was getting a
strange feeling just staring straight at his daughter’s
shoe. He looked amaze at first wanting to touch it, as she
moved her foot around in a circle movement. Of course, he
managed to snap out of it just for the moment.
He would have to stay here until nightfall just to wait
for the enemy returned. So far, the sun set around seven,
and he just observed Carrie. What she was doing and
reacting. It was his only amuse for entertainment. Chris
enjoyed watching his lovely goddess daughter. It was the
only mean left of him to why he was still around. She has
and is his blood and nothing precious to him more than to
try and protect her blood from the encountering menace,
who seeks to feed off and make her sick the next day. He
wouldn’t allow that to happen. No way in hell.
By the time she went to bed, Chris was more than ready
now. He had found a set of pins, another thread, and small
pebbles that he can use to attack the beast. He knew it
would be coming again for the straight fact that once
again, Carrie left the window open again increasing the
status possibility for the creature to return, and that
the creature had the instinct to have it’s retribution it
would first go after him now, before it gets to Carrie.
Chris was already up on the bed, as he marveled on the
features of his daughter’s face. It was shimmering against
the glitter of the night air. She truly was beautiful.
“Don’t worry, baby. Daddy’s gonna get rid of the bug for
you.”
Just then a buzzing noise was starting to come by as it
grew louder and louder. Chris then took a squint look from
the window. It was back again. But then as the creature
enter, something unexpected. Chris started to hear some
moans from Carrie, before he heard her say something he
thought he wouldn’t hear again. It got him all shocked, as
she said it out in a faint, but still hearable whisper…
“Daddy?”
