Phoenix Wright and his longtime best friend Maya Fey are returning home to the States following a visit to the far-off Kingdom of Khura'in, where Maya learned a new spiritual technique she's itching to try.
To Phoenix's understandable discomfort, this new technique allows Maya to shrink him to a tiny size, and to Maya's delight, doing so lets her buy a much nicer ticket for the flight home, so long as she keeps her little attorney friend out of public view.
