Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 7
You know what sucks is that everytime that i read this good story, i end up disliking Sylvie even more. She does not treat her brother well and seems to make fun of his small size. Their mother and farther are blind to this as they just see it as normal playing.
Sylvie is not a good princess and is the last person in the story that should have the size of a giant as she sees normal people as play things most of the time it seems. If this was more like real life all three of their kids would have been born giant size in steed of Valdan getting the shit end of the stick so to speak.
Am happy to see he had the balls to leave Sylvie sure it hasen't started well for him by falling into the icy river and going over the waterfall but this will be a good thing for him as it got him away from his no good sister.
Dammit he is half giant also he has to get something from his mother's side, his sisters got their mother's giant size but he had to get something also from her if it was not her size.
Am just feeling really bad for Valdan for how his life is going, to be born from a giant mother and to be born human size when his sisters get all the size and for him to be treadted poorly by his youngest sister just because he was born small, it just brings back somethings from my pass that has me feeling bad for him from when i was being pick on in school.
Am looking forward to what happens now that he left his sister and is now found by these two boys that are taken him back to their village. Good work.
Author's Response: Well, he is a bit tougher than average, otherwise he wouldn't have survived that waterfall, and there will be a situation later on where his giant parentage helps him survive an impossible situation. But his main strength is that he never gives up fighting, even if there's a chance he could lose. I was also picked on constantly while in school, so I can relate! ;-)
I did want Sylvie to start out as a complete brat, so that it would take something drastic to change her and force her to grow up. It's ok if you dislike her (you're supposed to, I guess), but hopefully by the end of the story you'll come to change your opinion, as she will definitely have changed by then. Her parents aren't unaware of what she is doing, but they are finding it difficult to force her to behave, so to speak.
The only reason the girls are giants and Valdan isn't is because I find the concept of giant women attractive and fascinating - giant men not so much. Not much of a reason, but yeah... :-)
Thanks for the great review!
