Rats! You faked me out, with that "fishy" title.

Author's Response:

Well I said I was a Christian author, and this is as close as I can get to the Biblical account of Jonah having a WHALE OF A TIME.

And, with that, I am now off to the next brilliant chapter: "Robert in Alice-land."

Author's Response:

Reminds me of the old vore poem I wrote a couple of years ago "Wonder in Alice Land"

Moral of this chapter? One good "Verne" deserves another.

Author's Response:

You've really Verned my praise with that pun.

Fee fi fum foes!
I think she's tracking him
With her giant nose.

Author's Response:

I hope I didn't mislead people. The giantess who ate Nils is not the same giantess at the top of Jack's beanstalk.

I bet he was hoping for nineteen more tongue-lashes. ;-)

Author's Response:

Tongue lashes? Sounds like a great way to WHIP cream.

Poor Hansel! Such a sad "waist" of life.

Author's Response:

And hopefully someone else noticed an in house joke in this chapter title too.

Well, maybe it's just my inner jaded, middle-aged grouch talking. But, so far, I like your spoof better than Mr. Sondheim's. No diabetically sweet songs to bog down the action. ;-)

Author's Response:

I'm flattered. I've drafted many more chapters (with appearances by Peter Pan, Gulliver, Yoop of Oz etc) but may not get around to writing them for a while, so you can always subscribe to a story alert on this yarn. (I'm impressed with how quickly you found it, when I didn't even promote it in emails this time).

Oh, you naughty in-joker, you!

Seriously, though: I finally found the name of that play. INTO THE WOODS, a two-act musical by Steven Sondheim, which ran on Broadway for nearly two years, back in the late 1980's.

Author's Response:

I found it on Amazon, but it seems to be a sequel, whereas this will be a mixture of much rewrite and eventually some sequel material. And the show doesn't seem to have any vore either. So read on and enjoy.

A new one? Already?? Your Muses must be working overtime!

Although, if memory serves, there was once a Broadway comedy that was sort of similar to what you're attempting. A comedy of errors that doubled as a fable about teamwork. I'll do a little more research and see if I can dig up the name.

Author's Response:

Sounds interesting. Pity it never got videod. I hadn't planned on comedy for this, but in order to emulate Lewis Carroll accurately, it just kept coming in and overflowed into the other characters too
