Author's Chapter Notes:

This is just the introduction to the later chapters, which will be short stories, most of them. I really hope you enjoy them, and any kind of comment or criticism is really appreciated.

Welcome!

Everyone knows that the average height of people around the world varies from one country to the other. These variations, however, are just by a few inches. Maybe a foot, tops. But what would the world be like if these height differences between countries were much larger? How would the societies function if the people from tall countries were significantly bigger than the ones from short ones? Let’s find out…

Hello everyone, and welcome to the luxurious Feathered Snake Hotel, in the beautiful Mayan Riviera, Mexico. We hope that you have a wonderful time during your stay, while you enjoy all that our hotel has to offer. Now, why don’t we venture forth into this splendid resort? Shall we?

The first you need to know about the Feathered Snake Hotel is that, for your convenience, there are 12 different zones, according to our guests’ height. As soon as you check-in, you’ll be given a bracelet with your zone color. This means that your room will be located in a zone where all the facilities are scaled to your size.

Each zone will host a designated group of nationalities, so you might encounter other guests who are not quite your same scale. Nothing to worry about, though, as we’ve made it so that the tallest people you can find there are around 9’5’’, and the shortest around 3’ tall, from your point of view, of course. These are only the ranges, as most of the time, scales would be much closer. This means that, while many size scales will be in the same zone, everyone there will still feel normal sized compared with their surroundings.

In this hotel, however, we encourage international interaction, so we have a couple of options for our guests in order to be able to do so. First of all, our brand new Mixed Zone, where people of any zone are allowed into. This is especially designed for people who are interested in meeting and interacting with guests from other size zones. A great opportunity to get to know people from all over the world!

The other option we offer here is to simply go visit other zones if you wish. You should, however, be really careful about doing this, since it could be dangerous and risky. There are security units patrolling the hotel at all times, as well as security cameras, but we still ask our guests to be as careful as possible when dealing with people of other statures.

Now, having covered the height discrepancy issues, let’s proceed to all the services that this hotel offers. You can enjoy the culinary variety of our restaurants, and we invite you to try every single one of our thematic restaurants, like seafood or Japanese. There are also 24 hour buffets for a quick snack. You should also visit our bars, where you can enjoy exotic and refreshing drinks. You can also call for room service at any hour. You’re allowed to visit other size zones’ restaurants and bars, but, as always, we ask you to be really careful.

Aside from eating, there are also many other things to do in our facilities. There are gyms for a morning exercise, as well as special facilities for children and meeting rooms, not to mention the Spa service. However, if you’re looking for fun, there are pools near the beach, and daily activities, like beach volleyball, water polo, tennis courts, etc. At night, you can assist to our own private club, where you can drink anything you want without extra charge. VIP zone does include an extra charge, though. Just remember, you need to be at least 18 years old to get in!

Again, it is allowed to visit other size zones in any of these activities, but you should be careful, as we said before, and it’d also be better if you let us know beforehand. The most important thing for us is that our guests feel safe and comfortable at all times, so please keep that in mind during your stay, but most important, have fun! Feel free to ask us anything you want to know. Thanks for choosing Feathered Snake Hotel, enjoy your stay!
